Abstract

Science in the Qur'an is a field of study that explores and analyzes Qur'anic verses related to knowledge and natural phenomena. The Qur'an as a holy book in Islam, not only serves as a spiritual guide, but also contains knowledge that is relevant to various aspects of life. There are so many verses of the Qur'an that contain information about the universe, astronomy, geography, biology, physics, and many other Qur'anic verses. The Qur'an gives an overview of the creation of the universe, the laws of nature, and the relationship between man and nature. In addition, the Qur'an also contains information about moral, psychological, and social ethics. The Qur’an is also a guide for humans in creating harmonious relationships in everyday life. The study of science in the Qur'an can provide a deeper understanding of the relationship between religion and science in Islam. This can help in developing a holistic and comprehensive perspective in understanding the universe and the role of humans in it. However, it is important to remember that the interpretation and understanding of Qur'anic verses needs to be done carefully taking into account the historical, linguistic, and cultural context. Science in the Qur'an must be seen as an ever-evolving field of research that requires an objective scientific approach. By studying science in the Qur'an, we can extract valuable and profound information about the universe from life as well as enrich our understanding of the relationship between religion and science

Abstract

Astronomy learning is often considered difficult by most students of the Astronomy study program at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara., so effective learning media in the form of digital comics is needed. This type of research is research and development (R&D), which follows the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development procedure. This research is only limited to the development stage. Comics are developed using Canva because they are easy to use on all devices and provide many features that make it easy for users to create graphic designs. The validation results from media and material experts on the comics developed each have an average value of 91% and 92% or are included in the very good criteria. These results indicate that digital astronomy comics can be used in learning. This research is limited to the development stage, so its effectiveness in learning cannot be known. The effectiveness and practicality of this digital astronomy comic can be known through the implementation stage.

Abstract

This study examined the development of Hilal Tracker as a system for determining the location of hilal observations that has been developed since 2015 until now. This system emerged from the need for an accurate, efficient, and documented way to find the best place to see the Hilal, which is an important factor in determining the beginning of the month in the Hijri calendar. This article explains the history of the development of hilal Tracker technology and methods, including integrating astronomical data, using satellite imagery, algorithms for predicting hilal visibility, and cooperation with various local and international institutions. With a historical qualitative approach and chronological documentation, this paper examined the changes in innovation from the early phase to the modern stage. The findings showed that Hilal Tracker has improved the accuracy of rukyat location selection, strengthened the global hilal visibility database, and supported the alignment of hisab and rukyat methodologies in some Islamic countries. In addition, this system functions as a link between classical Islamic astronomy and modern technology through an open approach and academic collaboration. Therefore, Hilal Tracker is not just a technical device, but also a means of education and diplomacy in creating a unified Hijri calendar worldwide with an observational approach. This study recommends further development of local weather forecasting aspects and artificial intelligence to improve location efficiency in the future.
