Abstract

News about the phenomenon of self-harm or nonsuicidal self-injury has been rampant in recent years. Nonsuicidal self-injury is a behavior that is often done to overcome negative or difficult feelings. Nonsuicidal self-injury is influenced by several factors including emotional dysregulation, loneliness and self-compassion. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of loneliness and self-compassion on nonsuicidal self-injury behavior on overseas students in Java and Sumatra. The measuring instruments used are the Indonesian version of the Self-Harm Inventory (SHI), Difficulties with Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS16), De Jong Gierverld Loneliness Scale (DJGLS), Self-Compassion Scale Short Form (SCSSF), with analysis using JASP 0.18.3.0 for windows. The results shows that there is a significant influence between emotional dysregulation, loneliness and self-compassion on nonsuicidal self-injury behavior on overseas students in Java and Sumatra. These findings provide scientific evidence that emotional dysregulation, loneliness and self-compassion can be important factors influencing nonsuicidal self-injury behavior.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between body image and self-esteem and the tendency for body dysmorphic disorder in teenagers in grades X and XI at SMA Muhammadiyah 5 Jakarta. The sampling method for this research used a purposive sampling technique and the sample used was 148 teenagers. Based on the results of data analysis using bivariate correlation between body image variables and body dysmorphic disorder tendencies, r = -0.268 with p = 0.001, which means there is a negative relationship between self-esteem variables and body dysmorphic disorder. The results of data analysis between the self-esteem variable and body dysmorphic disorder obtained a correlation coefficient value of r = -0.254 and p = 0.002, which means there is a negative relationship between the self-esteem variable and the tendency for body dysmorphic disorder. Multivariate correlation in the regression test shows that the coefficient of determination R Square is 0.074. Based on the multivariate correlation regression, the correlation coefficient value R = 0.272 and p = 0.004 is obtained, which means there is a relationship between body image and self-esteem and the tendency for body dysmorphic disorder. The effective contribution of body image and price to the tendency for body dysmorphic disorders is 7.4%, while 92.6% is a contribution from other factors not studied.

Abstract

This community service initiative aims to enhance understanding of non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention, promote healthy lifestyles, and offer digital screening services. The implementation method included health education sessions, demonstrations of self-screening apps, and basic health checkups for 127 participants from various sub-districts. The results showed that 89% of participants gained a better understanding of NCD risk factors, 76% successfully used the digital screening app independently, and 52 participants (41%) were identified as being at moderate to high risk for hypertension and referred for follow-up at a health facility. This initiative demonstrated that a direct educational approach and digital technologies can empower the community to identify health risks independently. It is recommended that this action be integrated into the regular agenda of local authorities to strengthen community-level promotion and prevention efforts.
