Abstract

This study examines denotative and connotative diction in Indonesian textbooks for grade II primary schools under the Merdeka Curriculum. The main objective of this study is to assess how denotative and connotative word choice can affect the understanding of diction in primary school students' stories. Through the content analysis method, this study evaluated various stories in the textbook, focusing on word choice and its influence on teaching effectiveness. Denotative diction and connotative diction were chosen as the objects of analysis because of their critical role in helping students understand literal texts, which is the foundation for further learning at an early age. Increased consistency of diction use across all subject matter to support learning effectiveness at the primary level. It is hoped that these findings can be used as a reference for curriculum development and the preparation of better Indonesian language textbooks in the future, in accordance with the principles of Merdeka Curriculum which supports inclusive and comprehensive education. The conclusion of the study shows that the use of words with clear and unambiguous denotative meanings tends to make it easier for students to understand the concepts taught. Through connotative diction learners can develop analytical skills that are important in reading and understanding texts.

Abstract

Abstrak. Desa Banjarsari memiliki beberapa potensi industri UMKM, dengan memanfaatkan hasil dari pertanian serta perkebunan. Usaha-usaha tersebut menjadi tambahan pemasukan bagi kelompok usaha di Desa Banjarsari. KWT Berkah mulyo menjadi salah satu kelompok usaha di Desa Banjarsari yang memproduksi Jahe Instan. Namun, dalam pelaksanaanya masih mengalami beberapa kendala salah satunya terkait pemasaran. Mahasiswa Unnes Giat 5 melakukan sosialisasi STP serta pendampingan dalam pemanfaatan Digital Marketing pada KWT Berkah Mulyo. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Asset Based Community yakni strategi pengembangan masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan asset berupa Jahe Instan sebagai salah satu produk UMKM Desa Banjarsari. Kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa sosialisasi dan pelatihan. Hasil dari pendampingan yaitu KWT Berkah Mulyo sudah memiliki akun Shopee, diajarkan pengelolaan dan pemanfaatannya, serta dapat digunakan untuk memperluas pemasaran.Abstract. Banjarsari Village has several UMKM industrial potentials, by utilizing products from agriculture and plantations. These businesses are an additional source of income for the business group in Banjarsari Village. KWT Berkah Mulyo is one of the business groups in Banjarsari Village that produces instant ginger. However, in its implementation there are still some obstacles, one of which is related to marketing. Unnes Giat 5 students conduct STP socialization and assistance in using Digital Marketing at KWT Berkah Mulyo. The method used is Asset Based Community, namely a community development strategy through the use of assetsĀ in the form of instant ginger as one of the UMKM products of Banjarsari Village. Activities carried out in theĀ form of outreach and training. The result of the assistance is that KWT Berkah Mulyo already has a Shopee account, and can be used to expand marketing.
