Abstract

The ability of young children to recognize letters is the ability to recognize and grasp the signs in writing that consist of alphabet letters symbolizing language sounds. According to the findings of the observations, some children's ability to detect letters did not develop optimally. The purpose of this study is to use smart box media to increase the capacity to recognize letters in the B2 group at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 14 Sawangan. This is classroom action research (PTK), with 24 youngsters participating: 12 females and 12 boys. Observation and documenting strategies are used to obtain data. A quantitative descriptive method was taken to analyze the data. The study's findings revealed that using smart box media improved children's capacity to recognize letters, as evidenced by an 11.8% increase in average percentage score from 57.99% to 69.79%. From cycle I to cycle II, the good category increased by 11.81% from 69.79% to 81.60%. Based on these findings, smart box media can improve children's capacity to recognize letters; it can also be utilized in the classroom to develop children's curiosity about media, as well as by teachers for learning.   ABSTRAK Kemampuan anak usia dini dalam mengenal huruf adalah kemampuan untuk mengenali dan memahami tanda-tanda dalam tulisan yang terdiri dari huruf-huruf alfabet yang melambangkan bunyi-bunyi bahasa. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, kemampuan mengenal huruf pada beberapa anak belum berkembang secara optimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menggunakan media kotak pintar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal huruf pada kelompok B2 di TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 14 Sawangan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), dengan jumlah peserta 24 anak: 12 anak perempuan dan 12 anak laki-laki. Strategi observasi dan dokumentasi digunakan untuk memperoleh data. Metode deskriptif kuantitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media kotak pintar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan anak dalam mengenal huruf, yang dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan persentase skor rata-rata sebesar 11,8% dari 57,99% menjadi 69,79%. Dari siklus I ke siklus II, kategori baik meningkat 11,81% dari 69,79% menjadi 81,60%. Berdasarkan temuan ini, media kotak pintar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan anak dalam mengenal huruf, media ini juga dapat digunakan di dalam kelas untuk mengembangkan keingintahuan anak terhadap media, dan juga oleh guru untuk pembelajaran.

Abstract

Introducing basic astronomy concepts early can help children develop a deeper interest and understanding of science in the future, yet it remains underexplored. This study aims to examine the methods and benefits of integrating astronomy into early childhood education (ECE) curricula and its impact on child development. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, the research involved four (4) ECE teachers in Jakarta and Depok who teach astronomy to children. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically. Findings show that children are highly enthusiastic about learning astronomy. Teachers employed creative and interactive methods such as picture stories, educational videos, and simple experiments. Adapting the material to the child’s developmental stage—such as using simple language and easily understood analogies—was key to successful learning. Astronomy education was found to support the development of critical thinking skills, curiosity, as well as children's social and collaborative abilities. The study concludes that integrating astronomy into ECE curricula holds great potential for supporting child development. It provides empirical insights into how astronomy can be effectively adapted for early childhood learning. Additionally, the research offers recommendations for educators and policymakers in designing more meaningful curricula.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials for the integration of Islamic values in early childhood physical motor learning based on hypercontent The subjects in this study are students of the Early Childhood Islamic Education (PIAUD) study programme at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This research uses the development research (R&D) model of Dick and Carey. The feasibility of assessing the development of teaching materials for the integration of Islamic values in hypercontent-based early childhood physical motor learning is based on the assessment of PAUD material experts, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) material experts, learning design experts, and linguists. As well as for the openness test conducted on 15 PIAUD study programme students. Analysis using qualitative and quantitative data analysis, data collection using interview guidelines, observation of documentation, and questionnaires. The results showed that the development of teaching materials Integration of Islamic values in hypercontent-based early childhood physical motor learning through a series of trials and expert validation, is worthy of use in early childhood physical motor course activities. The readability test shows that this module is easily understood by PIAUD students.
