Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) in developing countries is a cause of death. Drug Related Problems (DRPs) are unexpected events, in the form of patient experiences involving drug therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of occurrence of each DRPs which included indications without drugs, drugs without indications, inaccuracy in drug selection, low doses, high doses, drug interactions, drug side effects and patient compliance levels, in infection treatment therapy. acute respiratory tract in ARI patients at X Health Center. Data collection using random sampling technique. Analysis of the incidence of drug related problems was carried out by comparing the results of the study with standard books descriptively. The results of the study from 85 cases of ARI patients who met the inclusion criteria showed the incidence of DRPs in the category of no indication without drugs as many as 18 cases (12.94%), there were drugs without indications as many as 5 cases (5.88%), inaccuracy in the selection of drugs, no cases involving occurred, low doses were 13 cases (15.29%), high doses were 9 cases (10.58%), drug interactions were 10 cases (11.76%), while for DRPs the category of drug side effects was the most nausea with the percentage of 50.0% and the DRPs level of patient compliance is low with a percentage of 60.40%.
