Abstract

The Sustainable Entrepreneurship Education and Training Program at Universitas Galuh is designed to enhance students' understanding of sustainable entrepreneurship, develop innovative skills, and foster positive entrepreneurial attitudes. The program was implemented intensively from September 2024 to February 2025, which engaged 150 students from 19 study programs and featured 17 expert speakers from various countries. The training methods incorporated lectures, case studies, and group discussions, emphasizing sustainable entrepreneurship's theoretical foundations and practical applications. A Likert-scale survey and qualitative feedback were utilized as evaluation instruments to assess the program's effectiveness. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' knowledge and comprehension, entrepreneurial innovation skills, attitudes, motivations, and high levels of participant satisfaction. Additionally, the program was perceived as highly relevant to the context of the Asian community. The dissemination and promotion of the program through social media and mass media further enhanced its visibility and strengthened the academic reputation of Universitas Galuh. The program successfully met its objective of preparing students to become sustainable entrepreneurs. This achievement was attributed to the well-structured curriculum, the expertise of invited speakers, interactive pedagogical approaches, and the materials' relevance. Given its success, this program has the potential to serve as a model for the development of future sustainable entrepreneurship education initiatives.

Abstract

This study examines the application of criminal sanctions against opticians operating without an optometrist practice permit in Serang City. A refraction examination conducted by an optician without a licensed optometrist is a violation of statutory provisions, specifically Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health. If these obligations are not met, it will have a serious impact on patient safety, can reduce the quality of eye health services, and create public distrust of optometrists. The research method used is normative juridical by analyzing various laws and regulations as the main legal sources, including Law Number 17 of 2023, Law Number 36 of 2014 and other related regulations. In addition, the research is also supported by empirical data through interviews with various parties. This study shows that of the 30 actively operating opticians, only 16 optometrists have a practice permit in Serang City. Although criminal sanctions have been regulated normatively, ranging from administrative sanctions to imprisonment and fines are also possible. However, its implementation has not been optimal due to limited supervision, low legal awareness of optical business actors, weak coordination between the Health Service, law enforcement officers, and professional organizations and lack of education to the public about the importance of refractive services by Optometrists. This study concludes that normatively law enforcement is adequate, but its effectiveness depends on stricter supervision by various related parties, structured law enforcement mechanisms, ongoing legal education to Optical business actors to improve compliance and public health protection and educate the public about the importance of eye examinations by officially licensed Optometrists.

Abstract

Vegetable farmers in Bebengan Village, Kendal Regency, still mostly water their crops manually, resulting in inefficient water usage and inconsistent watering timing. Additionally, the water quality for irrigation has not been monitored regularly, even though pH and PPM parameters affect nutrient availability and plant growth. This service activity aims to implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automatic plant watering technology that can monitor pH and PPM and provide easy control through Google Assistant. The implementation methods include observing partner needs, designing and assembling an Arduino ATmega 2560 and ESP8266-based system with pH and PPM sensors, installing it on a 200 m² cultivation area, integrating remote monitoring and control, and training farmers on operating and maintaining the equipment. Implementing the system allows for more scheduled/controlled watering and provides real-time pH and PPM information as a basis for decision-making. In conclusion, the implementation of this IoT system improves the effectiveness of the watering process, supports water quality monitoring, and simplifies operations through voice-based control, thus potentially increasing cultivation efficiency at the farmer level.

Abstract

Narcotics abuse among students is a social and legal issue that requires serious attention. This community service and research aimed to enhance students' legal awareness regarding the dangers of narcotics through socialization activities at SMKN 7 Serang City. The methods used included legal counseling, interactive discussions, and an evaluation of students' understanding. The results showed that most students did not have a comprehensive understanding of the types of narcotics, legal sanctions, and the social and health impacts caused. After the socialization, the students demonstrated an increased awareness of the dangers of narcotics and the importance of avoiding substance abuse. This activity proves that early legal education plays a crucial role in building a culture of legal awareness within the school environment.

Abstract

This study investigates vegetation diversity within the agroforestry system of Kuta Traditional Village, West Java, Indonesia, a community renowned for its long standing integration of ecological principles and cultural traditions in land management. Twenty plots (20 m × 20 m) were purposively established to assess vegetation structure across four growth stages: trees, poles, saplings, and seedlings. Data collection includes the number of species and the number of individuals of each species, followed by the calculation of the Important Value Index (IVI), Shannon–Wiener diversity index (H′), Margalef species richness index (R), and Pielou’s evenness index (E). Results indicated that Cocos nucifera and Arenga pinnata dominated the mature tree stage, while Coffea canephora prevailed at the pole stage. High diversity (H′ = 2.91–3.41) and richness (R = 5.13–6.23) were observed in trees, poles, and saplings, reflecting balanced community structures and sustainable regeneration. The seedling stage exhibited lower diversity (H′ = 2.67, R = 2.96) despite high evenness (E = 0.96), suggesting selective recruitment patterns. Principal Component Analysis revealed soil pH as the most influential environmental factor shaping species distribution. These findings underscore the importance of traditional agroforestry in sustaining biodiversity, supporting livelihoods, and maintaining ecological resilience, thereby highlighting its significance as a model for sustainable land use and biodiversity conservation in culturally significant landscapes.
