Abstract

ABSTRAK Proses pembelajaran IPA di kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 27 Semarang sebagian besar siswa rendah dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis. Respon umpan balik dari siswa kurang kritis terhadap pertanyaan dan penjelasan dari guru untuk keaktifan siswa. Berdasarkan penelitian awal diketahui dengan metode ceramah dari 30 siswa terdapat 14 siswa yang memiliki nilai rata-rata di atas KKM 78, sedangkan 16 siswa dibawah KKM 78. Penelitian Tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kritis menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) di SMP Negeri 27 Semarang. Subyek penelitian siswa kelas VIII C sejumlah 30 siswa dilakukan dua siklus setiap siklusnya diadakan dua pertemuan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh ketuntasan siswa pada siklus I di atas KKM 78 berjumlah 22 siswa (73,33%) siswa belum tuntas dibawah KKM 78 berjumlah 8 siswa (26,66%). Ketuntasan siswa pada siklus II di atas KKM 78 berjumlah 30 siswa (100%) dan siswa belum tuntas dibawah KKM 78 tidak ada. Disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran sudah meningkat dan hasil tersebut sudah mencapai indikator keberhasilan yang telah ditentukan yaitu 80% karena ketuntasan hasil belajar mencapai 100% sehingga penerapan metode Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam proses pembelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP Negeri 27 Semarang pada materi getaran gelombang dan bunyi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diatas, maka model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam pembelajaran IPA.

Abstract

Students with math learning difficulties often make mistakes when learning to count and when trying to solve story problems. Students frequently experience difficulties when working on problems because they are not able to understand the meaning of the problem and become confused about using arithmetic operations. The purpose of this study is to identify the various kinds of numeracy learning challenges experienced by students, the factors that contribute to these challenges, and the strategies that can be used to overcome math learning challenges in grades IV and V of Sukosari Elementary School. This research method uses descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the study were 10 students in grades IV and V, as well as teachers in grades IV and V. The data collection procedures used were observation, interviews, test techniques and documentation. The results showed that there are several student learning difficulties such as understanding concepts, understanding mathematical language and numeracy skills are some of the challenges of learning mathematics. Furthermore, there are several factors that influence learning difficulties, namely internal and external factors. Students' attitudes and low interest in learning are the main causes of their learning challenges are internal factors. Lack of diversity in teachers' teaching, lack of utilization of learning resources, parents' concern, school infrastructure, and students' lack of sensory ability are examples of external influences that come from outside students.
