Abstract

Higher education in the digital age demands the integration of digital literacy in a learning approach to prepare students to face the complexity of job market demands. In this context, Problem Based Learning (PBL) models offer a potentially effective approach in promoting deep understanding and critical thinking skills. Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, the focus of learning is on the chosen problem so that students not only learn concepts related to the problem that is the center of attention but also scientific methods to solve the problem. The research was carried out at HKBP Nommensen University located on Jl. Sangnawaluh No.4, Siopat Suhu, East Siantar District, Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra, Zip Code 21136. The research period starts in January 2024 – July 2024 at the Biology Education Study Program at HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University. The study population is all students of the Biology Education study program at HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University. The type of research used in this study is a type of quasi-experimental research, which is research intended to determine whether or not there is an influence of the treatment given to students as research subjects. In this study, researchers used a pretest-postest control group design which aims to determine the learning outcomes of students before and after being treated. Based on the results of data analysis and hypothesis testing, there is a significant influence by using the Digital Literacy-based Problem Based Learning Model on Student Learning Outcomes and the Digital Literacy-based Problem Based Learning Model can be developed into an alternative learning model in lectures

Abstract

Abstract: Technology and information have progressed quite rapidly, as seen from the emergence of gadgets as a means of communication. Given the importance of digital literacy in responding to what is obtained from the internet, the author wants to see how the relationship between the use of gadgets and digital literacy in biology education students at HKBP Nommensen University Pematangsiantar. The sample was taken by the purposive sampling method with students majoring in biology education at HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar university as a sample. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the use of technology and digital literacy in biology students HKBP Nommensen University Pematang Siantar which often utilizes technology. The research method uses qualitative research methods and saturated sampling strategies. Google Form surveys with Likert scale are used to collect data. Judging from the survey, Generation Z is currently more dominant in watching videos than literate through e-books with a percentage rate of 78.4%. The low digital literacy among Generation Z is influenced by the wrong use of gadgets. There is a close relationship between digital literacy and the use of gadgets, namely using gadgets to find existing sources to increase one's insight and ability to improve quality in oneself. Keywords: gadgets; digital literacy, biology students, HKBP Nommensen University Pematang Siantar Abstrak: Teknologi dan informasi mengalami kemajuan yang cukup pesat, terlihat dari munculnya gadget sebagai alat komunikasi. Mengingat pentingnya literasi digital dalam menyikapi apa yang di dapat dari internet maka penulis ingin melihat bagaimana hubungan penggunaan gadget dengan literasi digital pada mahasiswa pendidikan biologi di Universitas HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar. Sampel diambil dengan metode purposive sampling dengan mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan biologi di universitas HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar sebagai sampel. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan antara penggunaan teknologi dan literasi digital pada Mahasiswa Universitas HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar yang sering memanfaatkan teknologi. Adapun metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan strategi sampling jenuh. Survei Google Form dengan skala Likert digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Dilihat dari survei tersebut bahwa generasi Z saat ini lebih dominan senang melihat video daripada berliterasi melalui e-book dengan tingkat presentase 78,4%. Rendahnya literasi digital di kalangan generasi Z dipengaruhi oleh penggunanan gadget yang salah. Terdapat hubungan yang erat antara literasi digital dengan penggunaan gadget yaitu menggunakan gadget untuk mencari sumber -sumber yang ada untuk meningkatkan wawasan serta kemampuan seseorang guna meningkatkan kualitas dalam dirinya. Abstract

Abstract: Mobile learning is a study device for that utilizes technology and mobile gadget . The term M-Learning refers to the utilization of portable or handheld devices. Based on the findings from observations at SMA Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar, information on the use of media was obtained that was still lacking, making students less likely to capture learning in class, thus making student learning outcomes decrease. There are around 165 students who graduated or completed 38.14% and there are 267 people who did not complete or 61.86% of students who did the objective of this study is to evaluate thr viability of developing mobile learning applications on cell organelle structure materials for learning outcomes. To identify the students reactions to the use of mobile learning application development on cell organelle structure material and to determine student learning achievements following implementing the development of mobile learning applications to improve learning outcomes in cell organelle structure material. This (R&D) methods with the use ADDIE model. The findings from the feasibility assessment of the mobile learning application by expert validators were obtained on average 95%, which means that the mobile learning application is very appropriate for implementation in the learning process in the classroom. The learning outcomes of students who use mobile learning applications have increased. Student responses to mobile learning applications received a percentage of 91% with the very good category.Keyword: Mobile learning, cell organelle structure, developmentAbstrak: Mobile learning merupakan sebuah perangkat pembelajaran yang menggunakan teknologi dan perangkat mobile. Kata M-Learning maupun mengacu pada pemakaian perangkat genggam. Dari perolehan pengamatan di SMA Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar mendapat keterangan bahwa penggunaan media yang masih kurang sehingga membuat para peserta didik kurang dalam menangkap pembelajaran dikelas sehingga membuat hasil belajar peserta didik menurun. Siswa yang lulus atau tuntas sekitar 165 orang atau 38,14 % dan terdapat 267 orang yang tidak tuntas atau 61,86 % peserta didik yang tidak tuntas. Studi ini memiliki tujuan untuk melihat kelayakan pengembangan aplikasi mobile learning pada materi struktur organel sel terhadap hasil belajar. Untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap penggunaan pengembangan aplikasi mobile learning pada materi struktur organel sel serta untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa setelah menerapkan pengembangan aplikasi mobile learning untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar pada materi struktur organel sel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode (R&D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE. Hasil uji kelayakan aplikasi mobile learning oleh validator ahli diperoleh rata-rata 95% yang berarti aplikasi mobile learning sangat layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas. Hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan aplikasi mobile learning mengalami peningkatan. respon siswa terhadap aplikasi mobile learning mendapat persentase 91 % dengan kategori sangat baik.Kata kunci: Mobile learning, struktur organel sel, pengembangan
