Abstract

PT. ABC is a company engaged in the manufacture of automotive spare parts and machinery. Based on the results of interviews and observations, it is known that there are problems regarding the large number of product defects produced when producing fuel filters of 3.84%. The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of producing fuel filter products using the six sigma method to identify, analyze and provide several suggestions for improvement. The most common types of product defects are broken filters, non-centered filters and reject settings. Based on the results of data processing, the Cp value was 0.96, the Cpk was 0.88, the DPMO was 12788 units and the sigma value was 3.73. Then implemented the proposed improvements in the form of making a checksheet, one point lesson and parameter standardization. The results of calculations performed at the control stage are the p control chart showing that the data is more stable, the process capability value increases to 1.17 and 1.11, the DPMO value decreases to 11652 and the sigma value increases to 3.76. This shows that the implementation has succeeded in improving the quality of producing fuel filters.

Abstract

In increasingly fierce business competition, companies must have a strategic plan that aims to focus on achieving long-term goals by linking organizational strategic plans. PT. IBE is a company in Indonesia operating in the recycling of metal resources. In carrying out its duties, the company currently only focuses on finances to be able to win the competition in the industrial world, so that other aspects are not considered. Thus, PT. IBE needs to measure company performance so that it can set targets and performance in company assessments. In measuring this performance, the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach is used by describing the company's vision and mission into 4 perspectives, namely Finance, Customers, Internal Business Processes, and Learning and Growth which have weights of 0.314, 0.247, 0.201 and 0.239 respectively. In this study sparked 12 Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Objective Matrix (OMAX) and the Traffic Light System assessment system and found that there were 2 KPI indicators that were already good, 5 KPI indicators had not been achieved but were close to the target, and 5 KPI indicators were still far away. under targets. After that, strategic planning is carried out using Hoshin Kanri using the Hoshin planning X-Matrix in order to achieve long-term goals and strengthen the vision and mission statement that the company expects to continue to grow.

Abstract

The high number of product defects in the manufacturing industry has a significant impact on the products quality and productivity of the enterprise. The research was conducted at manufacturing companies that produce drums, pail cans, and other can packaging. In the production process, they found a high defect rate in the drum production process, which resulted in a decrease in the quality and productivity of the factory. This research is aimed at assisting companies in reducing the defect rate of drum production; improving process efficiency; providing proposed process improvements; and minimizing existing waste. This study used the Lean Six Sigma approach, using SIPOC and CTQ to define problems, and measure process efficiency and product quality, obtaining a process cycle efficiency value of 8.06% and a sigma value of 4.6%. Based on the pareto diagram, the dominant defects are abrasions, paint top/body damaged, and screen printing top/body damaged, while based on WAM, the dominant defects are defects, inventory, and waiting. Based on this stage, analysis was carried out on all three defects using fault tree analysis, why-why analysis, and FMEA. In the future, improvements will be implemented to reduce the number of defects and increase productivity so that there is an increase in the value of PCE of 9.23% and a sigma value of 5.04 after improvements.

Abstract

This company is a company engaged in the coffin industry since 2014. In today's technological developments, there are many cases of competition, one of which is in business. To maintain his business, one of his efforts is to choose the right supplier. The challenge in finding the right supplier is the supply or procurement of the right product for consumers, at the right time at an affordable price. In selecting this supplier, many criteria can be taken into consideration, making it a difficult decision. Thus, this research was conducted to achieve the goal of getting which suppliers the company will maintain to work with by implementing Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) using Fuzzy AHP and TOPSIS. Where the Fuzzy AHP method is used to minimize uncertainties that can occur in decision making, while the TOPSIS method is used to find alternative solutions that have the shortest distance to positive and negative ideal solutions. Supplier selection is carried out by considering 5 qualities, 10 sub-criteria, and 4 alternative suppliers. The results of the Fuzzy AHP calculation show that the first rank is S4 with a weight of 0.498, followed by S1 with a weight of 0.196, S2 with a weight of 0.172, and S3 with a weight of 0.133. Whereas in the TOPSIS calculation, S4 was obtained as the first rank with a weight of 0.665; followed by S1 with a weight of 0.433, S2 with a weight of 0.244, and S3 with a weight of 0.178.

Abstract

Quality control of spring coil products has not been carried out properly, where it is indicated that most defects are outside control limits. This research was conducted at a company engaged in manufacturing, especially spring coils. The aim of this research is to increase process capability by reducing process variations that occur. The method used is Six Sigma DMAIC. A Cp value of 0,8 was obtained, which was in the range Cp < 1 so that it could be concluded that the process capability value was still below and improvements needed to be made so that the Cp was close to 1. Then a DPMO value of 8173,721 was obtained with a sigma value of 3,901. From the analysis conducted, it was found that the main cause of the defect was that the gears had chipped/worn out and the bolt settings had changed. Therefore, suggestions for preventive card maintenance were carried out. The next proposal is a raw material control card to control the quality of raw materials from suppliers. Another action that can be taken is to calculate the DPMO on a monthly basis. This is done to control the ongoing production process. The last proposal is with the 5S/5R kaizen plan card, which is to introduce that small changes can have a positive impact on sustainable change. With these proposals, the problems that occur, namely defects that are still high, can be reduced. Therefore this company needs to exercise control to maintain the suggestions that have been given or even improve them more than before.

Abstract

The rapid development of the industry today has made the level of competition between companies even stronger. Companies are increasingly fighting over consumers and trying to make their products more superior and desirable. Competition between companies cannot be avoided, thus companies must pay attention to several things during the production process so that they can facethe tough competition, one of which is to pay more attention to the quality of the products that will be marketed to consumers and minimize production defects so that consumer satisfaction can be fulfilled. In the interviews conducted, several product defects were obtained in the form of corrugated welding results of 54.35%, jagged cuts of 10.87%, sanding left 26.09% of residual welds and the result of painting on the pipe was lumpy of 8.70%. There are root problems in the production of pump in roll pipes, namely the human operator fatigue factor, the machine factor because there is no routine maintenance on the welding machine so that the welding process is not optimal, the method factor is the absence of WPS (welding process certification) in the welding work area and on environmental factors because there is no protection in the welding process area to avoid dust and water during the welding process. These factors have an impact on the pump in roll pipe production process so that it experiences several types of defects such as corrugated welding, jagged cutting processes, sanding which still leaves residual welds and lumpy and scratched paintwork.

Abstract

In order to face the competitive market, companies are required to produce good quality products and maintain their quality to meet customer expectations. The research was conducted at one of the textile printing companies in Indonesia with the object of research, namely CVC (Chief Value Cotton) fabric. This research aims to find out and overcome the company’s problems using Lean Six Sigma method with DMAIC completion stages to improve the quality of the fabric printing process and reduce waste in the company. Define phase started by identificating the company’s problem and measure phase maps the current value stream mapping and calculate process cycle efficiency (PCE) with a result of 17.88%, defects per million opportunities (DPMO) with a result of 16,627 and sigma level of 3.63 sigma. The next step is to analyze the causes of defective CVC fabric using fishbone diagrams, pareto diagrams, and why-why analysis. The last is control phase by monitoring the implementation of proposed improvements and recalculating process capabilities.

Abstract

Today, the words "quality" and "productivity" are the main components in supporting the level of success of a company. In addition, companies are also required to produce products quickly, but the products produced must have good quality. This good product quality will greatly affect the profits that will be received by the company. PT XYZ is a company engaged in the production of ice cream. This research was conducted using the lean six sigma method using the DMAIC stage principle. Based on the results of field studies, in the ice cream production process can be found product rejection by 2.5 to 3.5 percent which makes the level of production carried out by the company relatively high. In addition, there is also waste such as defects, overproduction, and inventory that occurs in the production department. Based on the calculation results at the measure stage, it is known that the company's current efficiency level is 33.53%, the DPMO value is 9906 products, and the company's sigma value is 3.83. The analysis stage is carried out by analyzing the causes of defects and waste that occur in the company using the help of tools such as why-why analysis and failure mode and effect analysis. After knowing the root cause of the problem of defects and waste, this study continued by providing various improvement proposals to eliminate existing defects and waste. The research is then continued in the last stage, namely controling, where at this stage further supervision and monitoring of proposed improvements that have been applied to the company. In addition, at this control stage, a recalculation of process capabilities will also be carried out to find out how the impact of improvements that have been made on the company.

Abstract

Supplier selection is a very important thing in purchasing activities for companies to improve product quality. PT ATP is having difficulty choosing the best supplier. One of the methods used in supplier selection is the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) method which is a method for solving a complex, unstructured situation into several components in a hierarchical arrangement, by giving subjective values about the relative importance of each variable, and in set variables. Based on the analysis of the selection of the highest ranking supplier for rockwool suppliers, namely PT. KNC with a weight of 0.471, PT. AI with a weight value of 0.331, and PT WIP with a weight value of 0.198. Meanwhile, for aluminum alloy products, the supplier PT. HIC with a weight of 0.698, PT. VII with a weight value of 0.215, PT SAI with a weight value of 0.008, and PT. MTS. The results from Fuzzy AHP show that the highest ranking for rockwool suppliers is PT. KNC with a weight of 0.471, PT. AI with a weight of 0.331, and PT WIP with a weight of 0.198. Meanwhile, for aluminum alloy, the best supplier is PT. HIC (0.698), PT. VII (0.215), PT SAI (0.008), and PT. MTS (0.079).

Abstract

Industri kelapa sawit memiliki peran penting dalam perekonomian Indonesia. Namun dalam proses rantai pasoknya, sering terjadi berbagai risiko yang dapat menghambat kelancaran operasional dan rantai pasok, salah satu yang paling berdampak adalah pada bagian pengadaan yang sangat mempengaruhi jalannya rantai pasok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis risiko rantai pasok pada divisi pengadaan sebuah perusahaan kelapa sawit dengan menggunakan metode Analytical Network Process (ANP). Metode ANP digunakan untuk pengambilan keputusan karena mampu menganalisis hubungan antar kriteria risiko. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada lima responden dari divisi pengadaan dan pabrik dengan pengalaman minimal tiga tahun. Risiko-risiko diidentifikasi berdasarkan enam kriteria utama dalam proses pengadaan, yaitu pengajuan PR, RFQ, proses PO, pengiriman barang, penerimaan barang, dan kondisi alam, yang masing - masing terdiri dari beberapa sub-kriteria risiko. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa seluruh kriteria dan sub-kriteria risiko telah valid dan konsisten. Kriteria risiko tertinggi didapatkan pada proses PO, kemudian kondisi alam, proses penerimaan barang, pengiriman barang, RFQ, dan terakhir pengajuan PR, sedangkan pada sub-kriteria risiko, risiko dengan prioritas tertinggi ada pada spesifikasi barang tidak sesuai pesanan, diikuti oleh barang terlambat diambil oleh PIC pabrik dan perubahan keputusan pembelian mendadak. Risiko pareto menunjukkan bahwa bobot risiko tertinggi berada pada sub-kriteria yang perlu menjadi prioritas dalam penyusunan strategi mitigasi. Berdasarkan risiko prioritas, perusahaan disarankan untuk memperkuat kerja sama dengan vendor dan melakukan diversifikasi supplier, mengembangkan sistem pelacakan pengiriman real-time, serta melakukan perencanaan pengadaan jangka panjang untuk mengurangi dampak risiko dan meningkatkan efisiensi rantai pasok.
