Abstract

Construction project management is a complex process that involves the integrated management of time, cost, and quality to achieve the desired results as planned. Effective supervision is needed so that the project can run according to the target without experiencing time or cost losses. One method that can be used for project supervision is Earned Value Management (EVM). EVM is a method used to measure project performance by comparing work plans, completed work, and actual costs. This method aims to accurately measure project progress, identify deviations in schedule and cost, and provide guidance in decision making. This research focuses on the application of the EVM method to the Batu Ampar - Sp.3 Muara Wahau Road Preservation Works construction project in East Kalimantan Regency. This road section is a strategic route connecting Samarinda City in East Kalimantan with Tanjung Selor City in North Kalimantan. In this project, handling landslide points is a priority, one of which is the Bore Pile and Foam Mortar work method. The results of this study are expected to provide a real picture of the application of EVM in managing construction project performance and improving the efficiency of time and cost management.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of character education strategies in the digital era, focusing on the integration of fundamental values and modern technology. Using a qualitative approach with library research methods, this study analyzes various current literature sources to understand the dynamics of character education in the context of digital transformation. The results show that effective implementation of character education requires a holistic approach encompassing three main dimensions: development of adaptive philosophical foundations, integrated implementation strategies, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. The comprehensive evaluation framework developed includes cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, emphasizing the importance of continuous monitoring. Major challenges in implementation include digital gaps and socio-cultural diversity, requiring contextual adaptation strategies. The proposed sustainable development model integrates environmental values and sustainable development, considering aspects of program scalability and replication. This research contributes to the development of the body of knowledge on character education in the digital era and provides a practical framework for implementing effective and sustainable character education programs.

Abstract

The construction of access roads to Kenyamukan Port in Sangatta, East Kutai, faced a major challenge due to soft saturated soils with low bearing capacity and high settlement potential. To address this issue, a soil improvement system was implemented using a combination of Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) and vacuum preloading methods. PVD functions to accelerate pore water discharge both vertically and horizontally, while vacuum preloading applies negative pressure to enhance consolidation without the need for heavy surcharge loads. This internship was conducted over ±2 months, focusing on the installation stages of PVD, perforated horizontal drains (PHD), geomembranes, and vacuum systems. Based on field observations and CPTu test data, this combined method significantly accelerated soil consolidation, increased effective stress, and reduced the consolidation period from over a year to approximately 90–120 days. The method is considered effective, efficient, and suitable for infrastructure projects on soft ground, especially in coastal areas. This practical experience also provided the student with hands-on knowledge of construction execution, technical skills, and real-world problem-solving in geotechnical engineering.

Abstract

The development of the Jakarta metropolitan area encourages the emergence of mixed-use development concepts that integrate residential functions with commercial activities in a single vertical complex. Cosmo Park Housing, located above Thamrin City Mall, represents an innovation in vertical space utilization, yet raises issues regarding spatial planning compliance and regulatory adherence. This research employs a normative juridical approach with library research methods to analyze the conformity of space utilization with zoning regulations, compliance with spatial planning regulations, and implications of mixed-use models on space utilization control in strategic areas. Research findings indicate discrepancies between initial Building Permits and construction realization, legal antinomy in determining ownership status, and regulatory void regarding technical integration of horizontal housing with vertical commercial structures. Regulatory gaps and licensing practices indicate weak supervision mechanisms and harmonization of legal instruments. This research recommends the formulation of specific regulations, strengthening institutional capacity, implementation of public participation, and harmonization of legislative regulations to ensure sustainable mixed-use development that complies with spatial planning principles.
