Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to compare the implementation of tolerance in elementary schools in Indonesia and Finland. Methods: The method used was qualitative descriptive with a literature study design. The type of study used was a comparative literature review. Data obtained were secondary data, including articles in online scientific journals, website articles, and books related to the implementation of character education of tolerance in Indonesia or Finland elementary schools. Results: Elementary schools in Indonesia or Finland have their own method of implementing character education, especially tolerance. Both countries have varied methods to implement tolerance values. This implementation is not only carried out in the class but also outside the class. However, from various methods and strategies used by schools in those countries, the two countries actually have several differences. In Indonesia, the implementation of tolerance values is still often carried out in the school environment by involving schoolmates. However, in Finland, tolerance can be implemented not only with friends from the same school but also with friends from different schools. Moreover, tolerance values in Indonesia are still implemented in existing lessons, while Finland has its own subject discussing life values, such as tolerance. Application/Originality/Value: This study explained methods for implementing tolerance character in Indonesia and Finland elementary schools based on three elements: providing freedom and not forcing others, respecting other beliefs, and understanding each other on existing differences.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan cara optimalisasi Taman Baca dalam peningkatan liteasi membaca di Taman Baca 20_11 Kecamatan Colomadu setelah pandemi, mengidentifikasi hambatan yang dialami oleh masyarakat di Taman Baca 20_11 Kecamatan Colomadu dalam pengoptimalan Taman Baca setelah pandemi, dan mendeskripsikan solusi yang telah digunakan untuk mengatasi hambatan yang dialami masyarakat di Taman Baca 20_11 Kecamatan Colomadu dalam hal optimalisasi Taman Baca setelah pandemi. Teknik analisis data kualitatif menggunakan konsep yang diberikan Miles and Hubermen. Miles dan Hubermen dalam Sugiyono (2012), mengemukakan bahwa aktivitas dalam analisis data kualitatif dilakukan secara interaktif dan berlangsung secara terus menerus sampai tuntas, sehingga datanya sudah jenuh. Aktivitas dalam analisis data yaitu data reduction, data display, dan conclusion drawing/verification. Peningkatan program literasi membaca dalamimplementasi peningkatan literasi di Taman Baca 20_11 Kecamatan Colomadu menghasilkan hasil yang baik. Dengan adanya penataan buku, puzzle bermain, dan pengaktifan remaja anak-anak tertarik untuk berkunjung di taman baca dan belajar bersama di sana.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to explain the literary and artistic extracurricular program in increasing the interests and talents of students, explain the results of the literature and art extracurricular program, and explain the importance of extracurricular at the elementary school level. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were 13 students who had an interest in the field of literature and art at MI Muhammadiyah Paseban, Klaten. Data collection techniques are in the form of interviews, observations, questionnaires, field notes, and documentation. Extracurricular literature and art is a vehicle for out-of-school learning that is engaged in developing student achievement in literary and artistic works. The material presented in this extracurricular is training in writing poems and short stories, how to make a biography, and other authorship materials. This extracurricular implementation invites students to directly observe the surrounding environment in making a literary work. This aims to make it easier for students to determine the topic by seeing the object directly. Based on the results of the questionnaire that has been shared, as many as 100% of students stated that they were happy to take part in this extracurricular. The results of interviews with companions show that extracurricular literature and art can improve abilities and encourage students who have potential and interest in literary arts to channel their interests
