Abstract

Adapun tujuan yang ingin dicapai melalui kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan lokakarya penggunaan LMS Schoology bagi guru-guru SD di Sukoharjo. Muara dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penggunaan Schoology sebagai LMS bagi guru SD. Khalayak sasaran yang dilibatkan adalah guru SD anggota Persatuan Guru Republik Indonesia (PGRI) Sukoharjo sebanyak 93 orang. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan dengan tahapan pertama berupa informasi, tanya jawab, dan diskusi. Sementara tahapan berikutnya berupa latihan dan praktek. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa: pertama, lokakaya ini mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta guru-guru SD di Sukoharjo. Lokakarya ini juga menghasilkan produk pengembangan course / kelas online oleh peserta. Peserta dapat mengimplementasikan course Schoology tersebut di SD masing-masing. Lokakarya ini dianggap berhasil karena 100% peserta hadir secara parsial, 90% peserta mengikuti lokakarya secara penuh, serta 90% peserta bisa membuat course beserta kontennya dengan baik dan lengkap

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to 1) identify knowledge of children's personal protection from sexual abuse; 2) identifying children's personal protection skills from sexual abuse; and 3) describe efforts to prevent sexual abuse that have been carried out by the school. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta. The research subjects were fifth grade students. The technique of collecting data are through observation, interviews, and documentation. Qualitative data analysis techniques use the concepts conveyed by Miles and Hubermen. The validity of the data was obtained through source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of the research indicate that 1) the child's ability to identify appropriate touch situations is good and the child's ability to identify touch situations that are not appropriate is very good. This are indicated by the child knowing that the appropriate touches such as the touch of the parents when caring for the body, the touch of doctors and nurses when examining the disease and inappropriate touches such as the touch of a housemaid or neighbor; 2) the child's knowledge and skills in reporting are very low, this are indicated by the child being unable to tell other people and children protect themselves by shouting, angry and running; 3) school prevention efforts have been carried out by schools through health education on reproduction and puberty in two stages, namely in the health and religious.

Abstract

The plurality of Indonesians becomes a challenge for the educational world in managing people, not conflict. Until present still few people understand what is really behind the culture of the nation. Elementary School have being basic layers of education need for multicultural education ystematically. Multiculturalism education is important because for aware the students to be tolerant to diversity  of Indonesian. Multicultural education can not be determined by a certain time standard, creating a plurality of tribes, races, cultures and religions to develop strengths and provide multicultural education as a national curriculum development approach. Besides, multicultural education in elementary schools can be through an additive approach.

Abstract

In second or foreign language learning, attitudinal factors were one of the key factors that determine language success and achievement. In Indonesia, foreign language (English) has been taught since elementary school, however research showed most Indonesian language learners in English showed unsatisfactorily result. This research aimed at disclosing the students’ attitudinal factors in learning foreign language by exploring their first experience in learning foreign language. This qualitative study employed exploratory case study design to interview students’ attitudinal factors by exploring the students past experience at first time learning foreign language. These students were from different education unit background when they were in elementary school. This study applied thematic analysis to interpret and analyze the data. The findings showed in case of attitudinal factors were categorized into three components that were cognitive, affective, and behavior. In case of cognitive and affective components, those who had good experiences felt happy in their first experience in foreign language and the vice versa. However, both were having similar learning behavior when they serve as an English teacher, they adopted particular learning behavior that was able to make students enjoy the foreign language learning.

Abstract

The aims of this community service was to provide knowledge and skills on how to make a good and interesting PowerPoint (PPT) slide. In addition, this community service also aims to provide a skill to make an educational game, and to make a teaching material from PPT by including audio and viisual. The community service at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Parakan (MIM Parakan) Karanganyar, Central Java was attended by the principal and twenty seven teachers. Before doing this community service, there are various preparations such as; ask for permission from the faculty to carry out activities, then give service permits to partner schools, prepare various needs and carry out activities that have been coordinated between the team and the partner schools. This activity was very enthusiastically followed by teachers at MIM Parakan..

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the validity of Natural Science teaching materials for fifth grade of elementary school. The development of this teaching material focused on "Human digestive devices, food and health'' material. The product developed was teaching material based on 7E Learning Cycle learning model (LC7E teaching material). The validity measurements were done by technique of expert validity and content validity. Teaching materials are legitimate if they reach "good" and "very good" categories. The level of validity of LC7E teaching material is on the valid criteria with an average score of 3.8 and a 95% success. The result of the content validity of the 24 questions given by the data obtained an average of r count of 0.575 > r table 0, 514. With that results, the teaching material developed is declared valid.

Abstract

THE WORKSHOP OF COMPILATION OF SCIENCE OLYMPIAD LEADING PROGRAM IN MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH MUHAMMADIYAH TEGALAMPEL, KLATEN. The purpose of this social service activity were to provide knowledge and insights related to the science olympiad (OSN) to the headmaster and teachers of MIM Tegalampel as well as assisted the compilation of work programs and committee of MIM Tegalampel. Materials that provided were OSN, best practices, and compilation of work program and committee. The model used was a workshop model with lecture, demonstration, question and answer and hands-on practice method. Evaluation was done by disseminating information and motivation to participants and product checklists. Generally, participants claimed that the schedule training was appropriate, time sharing (lectures, group discussions, individual assignments, presentations and games) were also perceived positively by participants. Participants were satisfied with the topics presented and perceived that most of the expectations and objectives of the workshop were fulfilled. The evaluation results indicate that the material delivered can be followed well and there was an increase in knowledge and motivation. In addition, the OSN work program and committee have also been arranged quite well.
