Abstract

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology and the global shift in work patterns have fostered the rise of remote work, a trend increasingly prevalent among the millennial generation in Indonesia. This transformation not only affects economic aspects and productivity but also brings significant consequences to the construction and transformation of workers’ social identities. This study aims to explore how the experience of remote work influences the social identity construction of millennials, including changes in social relationships, self-perception, and attachment to work communities. Using a phenomenological approach, the research involved in-depth interviews with ten participants aged 25 to 40 who have been working remotely for at least two years. The findings reveal that remote work initiates a complex process of identity renegotiation, in which millennials experience a shift in the meaning of workspace, the boundaries between personal and professional time, and the emergence of new, flexible, and digital forms of social connection. A dominant pattern of hybrid identity—combining the roles of “professional worker” and “free individual”—emerges, subtly influencing how individuals position themselves within the broader social structure. These findings highlight the importance of understanding identity dynamics in digital work contexts to formulate more inclusive and adaptive employment policies in response to ongoing social change.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the hospitality industry has driven the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) as a strategic tool in improving service quality and customer experience. This research aims to explore how AI technologies, such as chatbots, facial recognition, predictive analytics, and smart room control, are implemented in the context of hotel operations and their impact on guest perception and satisfaction. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with hotel management, questionnaires to licensed employees, as well as direct observation at a leading international hotel. The results show that AI is able to accelerate service processes, improve operational efficiency, and provide personalized experiences that have an impact on increasing customer loyalty. However, the findings also reveal challenges such as lack of employee training, guest resistance to automated services, and ethical issues of data privacy. The implications of this study suggest the need for a hybrid service approach between AI and human labor, as well as stronger education strategies and data protection policies. This research contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the role of AI in the hospitality sector and informs the formulation of customer-oriented technology-based service policies.

Abstract

The intersection of politics, psychology, and digital media has given rise to new forms of power that operate through emotional engagement and algorithmic amplification. Social media platforms have become crucial arenas where authority is constructed, emotions are orchestrated, and collective actions are mobilized. This study investigates the mechanisms of psychopolitics on social media by employing an interdisciplinary approach that integrates political theory, psychology, and digital communication studies. The primary objective is to understand how emotional narratives are strategically deployed to legitimize authority and encourage online mobilization. Using qualitative content analysis and digital ethnography, the research examines selected viral political content on Twitter and Instagram, focusing on the interplay between emotional rhetoric, symbolic authority, and user engagement. The findings reveal that emotional appeals—particularly fear, anger, and hope—are central to digital psychopolitical strategies, often used to polarize public discourse and intensify group identification. Moreover, authority in the digital realm is increasingly derived not only from institutional status but also from emotional resonance and perceived authenticity. These dynamics contribute to a fluid and affective form of governance, where influence is exerted less through direct coercion and more through the modulation of collective feelings. This study highlights the urgent need for critical literacy in navigating emotionally charged political content online.
