Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of the Nested type integrated learning model in improving the Indonesian language skills of grade VI students at SD 1 Bireuen. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results showed that the Nested model significantly improved students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The integrated approach allows students to relate various aspects of language learning, thus creating a richer and more meaningful learning experience. This study confirms the potential of the Nested model as an innovative and effective teaching strategy in language education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Integrated learning has become a prominent approach in elementary education, aiming to provide students with a holistic understanding of various subjects. This literature review examines the implementation of integrated learning at SD 4 Bireuen. The findings suggest that integrated learning positively impacts students' understanding of learning materials and fosters interdisciplinary skills development. However, challenges such as insufficient teacher training and support hinder its effective implementation. The role of school principals is crucial in facilitating integrated learning practices. Despite its potential benefits, concerted efforts from various stakeholders are necessary to overcome implementation challenges and enhance the effectiveness of integrated learning at SD 4 Bireuen.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in enhancing the intellectual life of the nation, and in the era of globalization, Indonesia's education system faces various challenges, particularly at the primary and secondary levels. School-Based Management (SBM) emerges as a solution to decentralize educational management by granting schools autonomy to improve educational quality. This study examines the implementation of SBM in improving education quality in public schools, focusing on planning, implementation, and managerial evaluation. The findings indicate that SBM improves academic and non-academic quality as well as management efficiency in schools. However, challenges such as resource disparities and limited understanding of SBM principles need to be addressed to make the implementation of SBM more effective. Therefore, further support in terms of training, resources, and community participation is needed to optimize the outcomes of SBM.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process and impact of developing interactive science media by students of the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) program in primary school science learning. A descriptive qualitative approach with a collaborative-participatory research design was employed. The research subjects consisted of sixth-semester PGSD students and fourth- and fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 8 Juli. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and students’ reflective journals, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The findings reveal that the media developed by the students - such as a solar system miniature, an electrical conductivity tester, and a science-themed board game - effectively enhanced students' engagement and understanding of science concepts. Moreover, the direct involvement of PGSD students in classroom media implementation strengthened their pedagogical and professional competencies as future teachers. Collaboration with school teachers also played a pivotal role in creating contextual, creative, and enjoyable learning experiences. These findings highlight the tangible contribution of student-developed media projects to improving the quality of science education in primary schools.

Abstract

This research is a literature review that aims to evaluate the quality of multiple-choice test instruments in fifth-grade elementary school science subjects based on item analysis. Evaluation of test instruments is important to ensure that the questions used in the learning process can validly, reliably, and objectively measure students’ competencies. Through a review of various journals and relevant literature, this study analyzed several aspects of question quality such as validity and reliability, difficulty level, discriminating power, and distractor effectiveness. The results show that many multiple-choice questions used in science learning evaluations have not yet met good quality standards, thus affecting the accuracy of assessments of student learning outcomes. This study recommends the need for teacher training in question preparation and analysis as well as the use of item analysis technology. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for improving the quality of educational evaluation at the elementary school level.
