Abstract

Mosques have a central position in the history of Islamic civilization as multifunctional institutions that not only act as places of worship, but also as centers of education, social, economic, and government. However, the times, especially in the context of modern urbanization, have led to a significant transformation of these functions. This study aims to describe and analyze the changes in the social function of the mosque from the time of the Prophet to the modern urban era, identify the factors that influence it, and offer strategies for revitalizing the mosque's function as a center of civilization. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with multiple case study design and thematic analysis and historical comparative methods. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis from four representative mosques in various eras and regions. The results show that the social function of mosques has experienced fragmentation due to changes in social and political structures. Nevertheless, mosques still have great potential as centers of social transformation, if supported by participatory governance, program digitalization, and community orientation. The findings show the importance of reintegrating the mosque's function as a spiritual and social public space that is adaptive to the dynamics of contemporary urban society. This study contributes to the conceptual and practical development of mosque management based on history and the needs of the times.

Abstract

Inflation in emerging markets is becoming a serious challenge in the face of rapid digital transformation, especially with the increasing use of digital payments changing consumption patterns and financial transactions. Within this ecosystem, digital payment services such as mobile banking and e-wallets open up wider economic access, but they also raise concerns about their impact on inflation stability, particularly in countries with macroeconomic vulnerabilities. This study aims to analyze the influence of the digital payment ecosystem on inflation dynamics in emerging markets, using dynamic panel econometric analysis with data samples from 20 developing countries in the period 2015–2023. Key variables include digital payment penetration rates, annual inflation, as well as control indicators such as GDP growth, unemployment rates, and interest rates. The results show that the adoption of digital payments has a significant impact on inflation dynamics, where the increased use of digital payments tends to accelerate the inflation response to changes in demand and prices. In addition, in countries with immature financial systems, the high penetration of digital payments amplifies inflationary volatility, demonstrating the need for adaptive monetary supervision. These findings provide insight for policymakers on the importance of balancing digital financial innovation with monetary policy to maintain economic stability

Abstract

This study investigates the synthesis of geopolymer materials derived from Indonesian coal fly ash as a sustainable alternative to conventional cement. The research aims to optimize geopolymer synthesis parameters and evaluate the environmental performance of the resulting material. Using a laboratory experimental approach supported by qualitative analysis, the study examined the effects of key parameters including alkali activator concentration, Si/Al ratio, and curing temperature on geopolymer formation. Experimental observations and supporting expert insights indicated that optimal geopolymerization occurred at an activator concentration of 10–12 M NaOH, a Si/Al ratio of approximately 2.0–2.5, and a curing temperature of around 60°C, producing dense and structurally stable materials. Environmental characterization revealed that heavy-metal leaching levels of Pb, Cd, and Cr were significantly below regulatory thresholds, indicating strong immobilization within the geopolymeric matrix. In addition, the utilization of coal fly ash contributes to reducing industrial waste accumulation and lowering carbon emissions associated with cement production. These findings demonstrate that coal-fly-ash–based geopolymers possess strong potential as sustainable construction materials. However, large-scale implementation requires standardized technical guidelines, supportive regulatory frameworks, and collaboration between research institutions and industry stakeholders.

Abstract

In the knowledge-based economy, organizations increasingly rely on effective knowledge management to enhance innovation and maintain competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge management on innovative work behavior among employees in technology companies. The research adopts a mixed approach by utilizing quantitative data collected through questionnaires distributed to employees and supported by qualitative insights from interviews and observations. The respondents consisted of 30 participants, including managerial staff and employees involved in knowledge-sharing and innovation-related activities. The findings indicate that knowledge management practices, particularly knowledge sharing, knowledge accessibility, organizational learning, and knowledge documentation, have a positive influence on employees’ innovative work behavior. Employees who actively participate in knowledge exchange activities demonstrate a higher tendency to generate, promote, and implement innovative ideas within their work environment. The results also highlight that leadership support and organizational culture play a significant role in strengthening the effectiveness of knowledge management practices. Organizations that foster collaborative learning environments and provide access to knowledge resources are more likely to encourage innovation among employees. These findings suggest that effective knowledge management systems can enhance both individual creativity and organizational innovation capacity. Therefore, technology companies are encouraged to develop structured knowledge management strategies and promote a knowledge-sharing culture to support sustainable innovation and improve organizational competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

This study explores the contested dynamics of land grabbing, customary land rights, and environmental degradation in Eastern Indonesia, with a case study focused on Merauke Regency, Papua Province. Utilizing a qualitative political ecology approach, the research combines in-depth interviews, employee questionnaires, field observations, and document analysis to examine how corporate concessions intersect with indigenous territories. The findings reveal systemic exclusion of indigenous communities in land acquisition processes, characterized by weak consultation, disregard for customary tenure, and the erosion of traditional livelihoods. Although companies assert legal compliance, the affected communities report significant loss of access to sacred lands, environmental decline, and cultural displacement. Notably, 90% of plantation workers surveyed recognized the negative impact on indigenous livelihoods, while only 25% believed local communities were included in decision-making. These results highlight the political nature of environmental change and demonstrate how land commodification undermines ecological integrity and indigenous sovereignty. The study contributes to political ecology discourse by documenting spatial injustice and calling for policy reforms that recognize customary land rights and support inclusive development.
