Abstract

This introduction discusses the importance of early childhood education in shaping the growth and development of children, especially in cognitive development. The golden period of childhood, particularly at the age of 5-6 years old, is a crucial time in forming personality and understanding of the surrounding environment. One important aspect to develop during this period is cognition, which involves various abilities such as attention, memory, and logical thinking. Science learning activities, especially through gardening methods, are an interesting approach to enhance the scientific understanding of young children. Through these activities, children can learn in a fun and contextual way while developing science process skills and understanding of the environment. The subjects of this research are 3 children aged 5-6 years old. The research method used is qualitative, involving observation, interviews, and literature studies to gain a deep understanding of the influence of gardening activities on the scientific knowledge of young children. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that gardening activities have a significant impact on the development of children, both in terms of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. This indicates the importance of introducing scientific concepts to young children through fun and relevant approaches to their daily lives.

Abstract

The Big Book is a learning medium in the form of a storybook with large-sized illustrations and text. The large size is specifically designed to attract students' attention and facilitate the learning process. This study presents information about flood disasters using the Big Book as the medium. The research aims to introduce education related to flood disasters and their mitigation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the study are 20 children aged 5-6 years at TK IT Nada Ashobah Surabaya. Data collection techniques are based on observation, interviews, and documentation. Creswell's data analysis aims to obtain a narrative, phenomenological, grounded theory, ethnographic, and case study approach with a series of events related to human experiences. This research can be implemented in early childhood education, especially in learning related to flood disasters, to improve language skills and knowledge about flood disasters. The results of this study indicate that the Big Book medium is very effective in enhancing children's reading abilities and knowledge about flood disaster mitigation. With an attractive and interactive design, the Big Book helps children more easily recognize letters, words, and important steps in facing floods.

Nutrition is crucial in supporting children's physical growth, cognitive development, and long-term health. The research employs a qualitative approach through systematic literature reviews of recent studies on child nutrition. Findings indicate that digital technologies, such as nutrition tracking apps, significantly enhance nutritional literacy and practices. A holistic approach that integrates local traditions, nutrition education, and digital technology offers sustainable solutions to combat malnutrition. This study recommends adopting digital technologies and evidence-based nutritional education to promote optimal child growth. Its contribution lies in providing a practical guide that integrates multidisciplinary approaches to simplify optimal nutrition delivery for parents.

Abstract

Childhood is a critical period in human development, where various aspects such as information reception, intelligence development, talent nurturing, and the instillation of moral values significantly influence future character and personality formation. However, bullying is a serious issue that threatens children's physical and psychological development. The child-friendly school program is a holistic and effective strategy to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students, as well as to prevent and address bullying. This study employs a literature review method to explore the roles of principals, teachers, parents, and external parties in implementing the child-friendly school program. Principals act as leaders and main drivers in policy formulation and monitoring, teachers play roles in implementing an inclusive curriculum and providing emotional support to students, parents are involved in collaboration and monitoring at home, and external parties provide resources and policy advocacy. Strong collaboration among all these parties is essential to create a safe and supportive environment, allowing children to develop optimally.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a crucial role in shaping the foundational character and morals of children. This study examines methods for developing religious and moral values in young children at school. The Library Research method was utilized, gathering information from national and international journals. ECE principles, including child needs, learning through play, conducive environments, integrated learning, life skills, instructional media, and gradual learning, are outlined. The moral development of young children follows Piaget's stages, influenced by religion, including the fairy tale, reality, and individual stages. Methods for developing religious and moral values through storytelling, play, field trips, and singing help children understand and apply these values in their daily lives. The research findings provide practical guidance for educators to effectively shape the character and morals of children. It is hoped that a deeper understanding of these methods will help create individuals of noble character ready to face future challenges.
