Abstract

The novel coronavirus has caused 6.85 million human deaths worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) says the coronavirus is here to stay, despite the declining trend of cases, but serious efforts are needed from all elements of society to end this global health crisis. Indonesia is one of the countries that is very consistent in suppressing the spread of the virus, one of the breakthroughs made is activating local government tools for prevention and serious handling. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the Coronavirus prevention and handling model carried out by local governments throughout Indonesia. The results of this study prove that as many as 38 provinces with 415 districts in Indonesia have not been able to maximally implement the coronavirus prevention and handling model following the framework formulated by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, this is due to many factors, including; the work culture of the state apparatus, weak middle-level management, as well as weak monitoring and evaluation issues.

Abstract

This study analyzes the political communication patterns and adaptation strategies of young leaders in the landscape of digital democracy, focusing on Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the primary case study. Using a qualitative literature review approach, the research explores how young leaders utilize social media as an effective communication tool to build self-image, public interaction, and political agenda dissemination. The findings reveal that Gibran's communication style represents a shift from traditional hierarchical approaches to participatory strategies through digital platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Adaptation strategies include responsiveness to public criticism and the ability to transform negative narratives into effective communication opportunities. The study also highlights that challenges, such as symbolic attacks and delegitimization in the digital public sphere, can be addressed through innovative and humorous communication approaches. These findings emphasize that young leaders have significant potential to drive transformation in political communication in the digital era, prioritizing participation, transparency, and rapid adaptation to technological dynamics.

Abstract

This paper discusses the role of special autonomy and village government in Aceh in supporting the implementation of sharia (Islamic law) and religious moderation. The study uses empirical qualitative methods and is analyzed through the theory of asymmetric decentralization. Data were collected through interviews with key informants, namely the Islamic Law Office, Village Head (Keuchik), Village Imam (Tengku Imum), Tuha Peut (Customary Apparatus), Pastors, Religious Figures and Community Leaders. Related literature studies include journal articles, laws and regulations, and books. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of special autonomy, especially through the framework of village government in Aceh, has effectively supported the implementation of sharia and religious moderation. This support can be seen from the authority and contribution of village government to Islamic education, such as gender-inclusive religious studies in Meunasah, economic empowerment through the management of zakat, infaq, and sedekah by Baitul Mal Gampong, and conflict resolution, namely by optimizing the active role of village officials in customary justice. It can be further emphasized that this article also concludes that promoting religious, social, and ethnic harmony through inclusive programs that actively involve all elements of society, regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity at the Gampong level is a prime example of the manifestation of effective religious moderation. Within the framework of asymmetric decentralization, Gampong authority has succeeded in supporting and facilitating special autonomy and the implementation of sharia and religious moderation can run well.
