Abstract

Anemia remains a prevalent health issue today, characterized by a low level of blood hemoglobin, and is the most prevalent type of malnutrition globally. The presence of anemia on the Global Burden of Disease 2004 list, which includes 1.159 billion people globally (approximately 25% of the world's population), demonstrates this. Approximately half of anemia cases are due to a lack of iron. Anemia can be treated non-pharmacologically with tomato juice instead of relying solely on iron tablets. The goal of this ongoing care is to investigate the impact of providing tomato juice to expectant mothers with slight anemia at HJ Hospital. In 2024, Halimah will be in Batam City. The research method used in this Continuity of Care is descriptive research incorporating a case study approach. Tomato juice is administered daily for a week. The easy touch GC Hb is the tool utilized to measure hemoglobin levels both pre and post tomato juice consumption. The study discovered that after consuming tomato juice daily, the mother's hemoglobin level rose by 1.1 g/dl From 9.9 grams per deciliter to 10.9 grams per deciliter. The overall finding suggests that administering tomato juice to expectant mothers with slight anemia has an impact. Pregnant women are advised to drink tomato juice regularly and ensure they rest enough to avoid anemia

Abstract

Stress among midwives can affect the quality of midwifery services, particularly in hospitals with high levels of activity. Education on stress management is a crucial effort to enhance midwives' knowledge and attitudes in providing optimal midwifery services. This study was conducted at RS Budi Kemuliaan Kota Batam, which includes various midwifery service units such as the 24/7 PONEK room, delivery room, midwifery clinic, postpartum room, and perinatal room. Each unit faces different work pressures, making stress management skills essential for midwives. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of education on midwives' knowledge and attitudes regarding stress management techniques. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest method was employed. The study sample consisted of 30 midwives, selected through total sampling. The instruments used were knowledge and attitude questionnaires, which were tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis included normality tests, which indicated normal distribution, followed by paired t-tests to assess the differences in knowledge and attitudes before and after the educational intervention. The results showed a significant improvement in midwives' knowledge and attitudes after the education (ρ-value < 0.05). The average knowledge score increased from 12.13 to 14.90, while the average attitude score increased from 13.10 to 16.00. The conclusion of this study is that education on stress management effectively enhances midwives' knowledge and attitudes. The practical implication is the need for regular education programs to support midwives' ability to manage stress, thereby continuously improving the quality of midwifery services.

Abstract

According to WHO data in 2016, around 10% of women experienced anxiety during pregnancy and 13% of women experienced anxiety after giving birth. The risk level for anxiety disorders in pregnant women in developing countries is around 15.6% and in Indonesia there are around 28.7% of pregnant women in their third trimester who experience anxiety. The deep breathing relaxation technique is a technique for taking deep breaths, slow breathing (holding inspiration to the maximum) and exhaling slowly. This study aims to determine the effect of breath relaxation using rose aromatherapy on the anxiety of pregnant women in the third trimester when facing childbirth. Pre-experimental research method with a one group pre test and post test design approach. This research was conducted at the Meral Community Health Center in February - August 2024 on 44 pregnant women in the third trimester. The data was analyzed using SPSS. The research results showed that the average anxiety before deep breath relaxation using rose aromatherapy was 18.48 and the average after was 8.75. Data analysis obtained p-value 0.001 (p<0.05). So it can be concluded that there is an effect of breath relaxation using rose aromatherapy on the anxiety of pregnant women in the third trimester when facing childbirth. It is hoped that pregnant women can further practice deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce anxiety. Abstract

Abstract

The puerperium is an important period, as the risk of maternal and infant morbidity and mortality increases during this period. Hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal death worldwide and most occur before 24 hours postpartum. Therefore, the birth attendant must ensure that the uterus contracts properly, so that bleeding does not occur. The postpartum period is influenced by many factors, one of which is socio-cultural. Indonesia is a country consisting of various tribes and cultures that have their own health traditions. Not all existing traditions have a bad effect on health but there are also some that have a positive impact on health. Efforts to assist and therapy to shape the coping skills of postpartum women are with complementary therapy. Complementary therapy is a therapy that is used as a companion in conventional therapeutic efforts that a person has done. This type of research is descriptive by applying a case study approach. The implementation of this research was carried out at the PMB Nazriwati, S.Tr.Keb on Mrs. W by providing complementary health education education for mothers in the postpartum period
