Abstract

Anxiety in postpartum women is not uncommon, with a number of signaling mental-related issues, such as tenseness, worry, and/or panic attacks, may appear. Its negative impacts are not only limited to affecting the mother’s mental state, but also the baby’s proper growth and well-being.. This study aims to provide a standardized Continuity of Midwifery Care (CoMC) along with its complementary effort on Mrs. E (aged 30) who gave birth in the Hospital of Hj. Bunda Halimah in 2024. The design of the study employs a study case. CoMC coverage started from the antenatal, intranatal, neonatal, postnatal, and Family Planning (FP) through contraceptive proposition on Mrs. E (G1P0A0) whose last menstrual period (LMP) was on 16 June 2023 and the expected delivery date (EDD) was on 23 March 2024. The first contact took place on 27 February 2024 during the last trimester of pregnancy (p. 36 weeks, 3 days) with nil remarks, no signs of difficulty, and was followed by intranatal care on 31 March 2024, via c-section. The newborn was reportedly normal with no signs of abnormalities. Postnatal care showed a sign of anxiety which was anticipated by a series of hypnobreastfeeding technique, conducted four times, with the hopes to stimulate and to help relax the mother to make breastfeeding activity come out as natural as possible.

Abstract

Labor is a physiological thing experienced by everyone, but this physiological condition can become pathological if a mother does not know the physiological conditions and a helper or health worker does not understand how a labor is said to be physiological and how to manage it so that it can help reduce maternal mortality. Long labor is caused by inadequate uterine contractions (his) so that the opening of the cervix is slow which results in the mother experiencing fatigue and exhaustion. Inadequate uterine contractions can cause intrapartum and postpartum bleeding. Acupressure produces the hormone oxytocin, which can accelerate the opening of the first stage of labor and affect the progress of labor. One of the acupressure points that can be applied to accelerate the progress of labor is at point LI4. This study aims to determine the effect of acupressure technique on the duration of labor in the first stage. The research method is quasy experiment. The design of the quasy experiment design used was Two group post test Only Design. This research was conducted in the work area of the Tanjung Balai Karimun Health Center, the sample in this study were 80 women in labor during the active phase I. The results of the study in the control group were 8.5 times. The results of the study in the control group were 8.45 hours, with a range of 5-12 hours, in the Acupressure Group it was shorter, namely 6.23 hours, with a range of 4-9 hours with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) it can be concluded that there is an effect of acupressure technique on the length of labor phase I at UPT Puskesmas Tanjung Balai Karimun Regency in 2024. It is recommended to be able to implement acupressure action as an alternative to accelerate the length of labor in Stage I.

Abstract

The incidence of pain in laboring women was 15% with mild pain, 35% with moderate pain, 30% with severe pain and 20% laboring with severe pain. 67% of mothers feel worried about pain during labor. Therefore, methods are needed to overcome labor pain in which Pelvic Rocking is one form of effective exercise and has several advantages Pelvic Rocking can strengthen the muscles of the abdomen and waist. This exercise can reduce pressure on the mother's bladder (Vesica Urenia). Pelvic rocking also helps the mother to relax and improve the digestive process. Therefore, it is necessary to consider how to overcome the pain. Research in the United States 70-80% of mothers who give birth expect labor to take place without feeling pain. Currently 20-50% of deliveries are by Caesarean section which avoids the pain of normal childbirth. This type of research is a pre experimental design. The design of this study is a posttest only control group design, which is an average preexperimental design showing the results that the intensity of labor pain before being given pelvic roacking therapy treatment of labor pain at stage I after treatment obtained a p-value of 0.000 <0.05 then H0 is rejected, so there is an influence and a significant difference in labor pain at stage I between before being given pelvic roacking therapy treatment and after being given treatment to mothers. Abstract

The condition of newborn weight and gestational age will affect the infant mortality rate. Newborn babies with a weight less than normal regardless of gestational age are called LBW babies. In Low Birth Weight Babies (LBW), the initiation of bonding attachment between mother and baby is delayed. There needs to be a treatment that can be an alternative solution in the care of low birth weight babies (LBW), one of which is by implementing the Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) method. This study aims to determine the effect of the Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) method on weight gain in Low Birth Weight Babies (LBW). This research method is a quasi experiment with a one group pre-test and post-test design. This research was conducted at the Muhammad Sani Karimun Hospital, the sample in this study were 16 LBW babies born in June 2024. The results of this study showed an increase in the average weight of infants after KMC treatment, where the average weight of infants before KMC was 1431 grams, and the average weight of infants after KMC was 1590.63 grams (the difference is 159.63 grams), with a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05) it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) method on weight gain in LBW. It is expected that mothers can provide KMC method care to increase infant weight, especially in LBW babies. Keywords : Kangoroo Mother Care, Baby, low birth weight babies

Abstract

Background: The infant mortality rate is mostly caused by low birth weight (LBW). LBW can occur in infants with premature or term gestational age. LBW infants have risk factors for complications, one of which is hyperbilirubinemia. Methods: The type of research used in this study is correlational analytic method, which is looking for the relationship between one variable and another to determine the relationship between gestational age and birth weight with the incidence of hyperbilirubinemia in newborns. The design used is cross sectional, which is a research design by measuring or observing at the same time, one time or a study. The sampling technique used in this research is non-probability sampling, which is purposive sampling, namely the technique of determining the sample with certain considerations, all subjects who meet the inclusion criteria in the study, and obtained as many as 78 respondents. Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents with good knowledge were 64 people (79.49%), and the majority of respondents with adequate birth weight were 70 people (89.74%). Conclusion: It was identified that the incidence of neonatal jaundice was associated with the incidence of low birth weight babies. Keywords: gestational age, birth weight, hyperbilirubin in BBL
