Abstract

Dark jokes refer to a style of comedy that often focuses on subjects considered taboo or sentistive by most people. In Indonesiaan’s entertainment industry, one stand up comedian known by frequently using this style is Bintang Emon. In every piece of content, he creates and publishes through his social media accounts, particularly Intagram, Bintang consistently incorporates dark jokes that entertaint his audience or spark controversy. An example of this is his content that garnered significant attention when he criticized the court’s decision regarding the Novel Baswedan acid attack case. This research aims to analyze messages behind the dark jokes in Bintang Emon’s Instagram content related to the acid attack on Novel Baswedan. The research employs a qualitative approach and analyzes that content using Andrik Porwasito’s four stages of message analisys. The results indicate that Bintang Emon aims to convery a critical message using humor, particularly through satire, wordplay, and absurd analogies In relation to the case.

Abstract

Pada era teknologi pada tahun 2025, media sosial telah menjadi saluran yang tidak dapat terpisahkan dengan masyarakat, terutama generasi Z yang dikenal sebagai generasi yang mudah beradaptasi dengan teknologi. Di tengah terpaan kecanggihan teknologi, para generasi Z justru luput dalam berkomunikasi yang menjunjung etika di dalam aktivitas tersebut. Salah satunya adalah menjaga privasi diri mereka, penggunaan bahasa yang baik dalam berkomunikasi sehingga tidak menimbulkan konflik berkepanjangan, dan melakukan kroscek informasi sebelum disebarkan. Melalui program Saring sebelum Oversharing ini, tim pengabdian melakukan edukasi kepada siswa siswi di SMA Negeri 1 Telaga Biru mengenai etika bermedia sosial dan kasus-kasus mengenai pembagian informasi yang berlebihan di media sosial; antara lain oversharing dan doxxing. Hasil dari program tersebut menumbuhkan pengetahuan para siswa dan siswi dari SMA Negeri 1 Telaga Biru terkait etika dalam bermedia sosial, antara lain berhati-hati dalam membagi informasi. Siswa dan siswi juga mengetahui tentang regulasi di negara Indonesia terkait pembagian informasi di media sosial, antara lain undang-undang yang mengatur tentang privasi dan doxxing. Kasus-kasus tentang oversharing dan doxxing juga dibahas pada program “Saring Sebelum Oversharing”, sehingga siswa dan siswi dapat menerapkan Pelajaran yang diperoleh dari program tersebut dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Insert the current political reality in Indonesia has become a complex and diverse focal point of attention. In the context of the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres 2024), the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the minimum age requirement for vice presidential candidates has sparked widespread controversy. This issue has become a subject of debate because age limits are considered one of the criteria for political leadership qualifications. Framing Analysis is utilized to understand how the media, including CNN Indonesia, present Gibran and the issues surrounding his candidacy as vice president. This research employs a qualitative approach and constructivism paradigm to elucidate this phenomenon. By leveraging Robert N. Entman's Framing Analysis model, this study aims to gain a deeper understanding of how the media influences public perception of Gibran and the political issues associated with him. The data used consists of news reports from CNN Indonesia, specifically textual coverage from October 2023, which is deemed influential in shaping public opinion and perception regarding the 2024 presidential election. Through this research, it is hoped that the understanding of how the media comprehend and interpret specific political realities, as well as their impact on public opinion and the democratic process, will be revealed.
