Abstract

Abstract

The issue discussed is whether there is still a discrepancy or divergence between problematic financing (NPF) and profitability (ROA) from the general trend. On the other hand, Non-Performing Financing (NPF) and Return on Assets (ROA) interact in ways that significantly affect the financial performance of banks. This indicates the complexity of this relationship, suggesting a simultaneous relationship between NPF and ROA. The aim of this research is to understand the simultaneous relationship between profitability and problematic financing of Islamic banks in Indonesia. This study uses the Two Stage Least Square (TSLS) method, with financial ratio data from Islamic banks in Indonesia from 2010 to 2023, using quarterly data. Based on the simultaneous test results, there is a simultaneous relationship between the profitability model (ROA) and problematic financing (NPF). In the profitability equation model (ROA), BOPO affects the profitability of Islamic banks, while problematic financing and CAR do not have an effect. However, in the problematic financing equation model (NPF), profitability and CAR affect problematic financing in Islamic banks in Indonesia, whereas FDR does not affect operational cost reduction targets. Moreover, policies that emphasize increasing profitability through product diversification and capital enhancement (CAR) will help reduce the risk of problematic financing through issuing new shares or reinvesting profits, while product diversification can help increase revenue and reduce the risk of uncollectible financing.

Abstract

Islamic wealth planning refers to the financial planning services for the growth and protection of wealth based on Sharia principles. This research explores Islamic wealth planning to integrate Islamic values into financial management. The aim is to identify research trends in Sharia-based financial planning. Data was obtained from Crossref Search for the years 2019-2024 and analyzed using bibliometric methods. The findings indicate a primary focus on financial inclusion and Sharia fintech, with factors such as perceived ease of use and perceived benefits identified as key drivers of adoption. Challenges such as digital risks were also identified as potential barriers. This research provides strategic insights for optimizing technology adoption in Islamic finance and contributes to the development of both literature and industry practices.

Abstract

This paper explores the issue of inflation, its causes and impacts, particularly on economic stability from an Islamic perspective. The author highlights the significant burdens arising from rising prices of basic goods and services, which are often attributed to inflation, as well as its effects that encourage protests against government plans that may worsen the situation. The paper reviews the definition and recognition of inflation in economic discourse, highlights its historical significance, and its negative consequences on purchasing power and public welfare. The author emphasizes the importance of controlling inflation to maintain economic stability, recognizing the government's challenge in striking a balance, as inflation rates that are too low or high can be detrimental. The text also presents insights from Islamic economists, such as Monzer Kahf, who oppose the fallacy of blaming interest rates for inflation, and claim that inflation is related to a surplus of means of payment or a shortage of general supply. The paper concludes by outlining the impact of inflation on economic stability from an Islamic perspective and details strategies to control inflation, involving government policies and individual practices.
