<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Jumlah pengguna YouTube di Indonesia sendiri tercatat sebanyak 88,16 persen dari total pengguna internet. Ini menunjukkan bahwa YouTube merupakan platform video online dengan penetrasi tinggi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis respon penonton terhadap video "Hilang Dalam Dekapan Semeru" pada channel YouTube RJL 5 dengan menggunakan metode netnografi. Video tersebut menceritakan kisah nyata tentang kehilangan teman saat mendaki Gunung Semeru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan netnografi untuk mempelajari interaksi sosial dan respon penonton secara online. Data diperoleh dari komentar publik pada video yang menjadi objek penelitian. Hasilnya menunjukkan banyak respon positif yang menganggap video tersebut memberikan pelajaran hidup dan motivasi. Selain itu video ini dinilai mampu memberikan hiburan serta inspirasi bagi penontonnya. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa konten horor di YouTube tidak selalu identik dengan hal-hal negatif seperti unsur SARA, pornografi, ataupun hoaks. Video "Hilang Dalam Dekapan Semeru" justru mampu memberikan manfaat positif bagi penontonnya. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas konten serta optimalisasi platform YouTube. ABSTRACT The number of YouTube users in Indonesia itself is recorded at 88.16 percent of total internet users. This shows that YouTube is an online video platform with high penetration in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the audience response to the "Lost in Semeru's Embrace" video on the RJL 5 YouTube channel using the netnography method. The video tells a true story about losing friends while hiking Mount Semeru. The research method used is qualitative with a netnographic approach to study social interactions and audience responses online. Data were obtained from public comments on the video under study. The results show many positive responses that consider the video provides life lessons and motivation. In addition, this video is considered to provide entertainment and inspiration for the audience. The result of this research is that horror content on YouTube is not always identical with negative things such as SARA elements, pornography, or hoaxes. The "Lost in Semeru's Embrace" video is actually able to provide positive benefits for the audience. The results of this study are expected to improve content quality and optimization of the YouTube platform.]]>
