Abstract

The objective is to: (1) describes the relevance of literature language to the nation's character, (2) describe the contribution of literature language in character education of the nation. The study used descriptive qualitative method with inductive logic. The object of this research is literature language as an alternative to character education in the nation. The research data in the form of soft data that is words, phrases, sentences, and discourse that contain elements of character education in Indonesian literature. Data collected with libraries technique, see and record. Data analysis was performed with contens methods of analysis and reading of the semiotic model which consists of reading heuristics and hermeneutics. The results of this study are: (1) literature with a variety of genre has a strong relevance to the human character, (2) works of literature language have an important contribution in the nation of character education. Literature can be used as an alternative in a nation of character education. Through the appreciation of literature, the reader will be able to find the moral values and ideas about human existence that are useful to enrich the human mind. Moral values, among others: the willingness to accept the guilty, the importance of the struggle of life, humanity and social sensitivity, moral in the art, the importance of morals in life, religion and religiosity, willingness to accept differences, and gender perspectives.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) describe discourse as a form of Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk (RDP) stylistics and (2) reveal the function and purpose of using discourse style as an author's expression in expressing ideas about the local wisdom of Java, Banyumas. The research method is descriptive qualitative which prioritizes nuanced interpretations. The data is in the form of words, sentences and discourse in the RDP novel which contains local Javanese wisdom. The data source is the RDP novel. Data collection was carried out by literature study. Data analysis was carried out by applying the Semiotic model reading method, namely heuristics and hermeneutics and the inductive thinking method. The results of the RDP stylistic study show: (1) the discourse style in RDP is unique and distinctive, namely the code-switching discourse style in Javanese and at the same time proves Tohari's competence in empowering all language potential; (2) the code-switching discourse style in Javanese is used to display traditional Javanese mantras and songs (songs) that are rich in variations in order to expose the local wisdom of Java, Banyumas.

Abstract

This research is based on the culture in Indonesia, one of which is the culture of the Toraja people. The purpose of this research is to describe the symbolic interpretation in the novel Puya ke Puya by Faisal Oddang. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with literary anthropology approach. The data of this research are words, phrases, statements, expressions, and discourses related to Clifford Geertz's symbolic interpretation in the novel Puya ke Puya by Faisal Oddang. Secondary data sources include books on the subject. Data collection techniques use reading and note-taking techniques. hermeneutic techniques are data analysis techniques used in this research. The result of this research is data in the form of Clifford Geertz's symbolic interpretation which includes: (1) Represented plans include traditional songs and traditional clothing. (2) The Toraja people's recipe that is represented is tanu kerbau. (3) Represented Torajan rules are the noble strata and the ma’tinggoro tedong. (4) Represented Torajan instructions are aluk todolo belief and Rambu Solo ritual.

Abstract

In recent decades, the extenuation of literature or the conversion of literature into film is a mass media that is very popular with the public, especially students. On the other hand, literature learning in Indonesia, on average, has yet to be a lesson that students are interested in. Many students feel dislike literature lessons. Through literature, students can learn in many ways, including character education and film review writing. Therefore, examining the contribution of utilizing literary exclusion in developing film review writing through academic learning is necessary. The purpose of this study is to describe the following: (1) The contribution of exploring Indonesian literature as a medium for developing film/cinema review writing among high school students, (2) The response of the student community to the contribution of literary ekranization as a medium for learning literature in schools, (3) Implementing academic learning with literary ekranization media in developing film review writing for high school students. This research uses the qualitative descriptive method. A qualitative approach is used to obtain data in greater depth and describe phenomena in the field objectively. The data of this study is in the form of qualitative data, namely data in the form of words, sentences, and discourses or images in films resulting from literary excranization. Data sources include the film Saat Cinta Bertasbih, resource persons, Indonesian teachers and students, and documents. Data were collected through observation techniques by watching the film Saat Cinta Bertasbih, in-depth interviews with students and teachers, and document analysis. Data analysis is carried out by the semiotic model reading method, including heuristic and hermeneutic readings. The results showed: (1) The ekranization of Indonesian literature has a significant contribution to academic learning in order to develop student's skills in writing film reviews; (2) The enthusiasm of the high school student community towards the explanatory literature as a medium for learning literature in schools is very evident, it is evident that all students are fully involved in watching the film When Love Is Celebrated; (3) Learning by utilizing the literary excranization of the novel Saat Cinta Bertasbih as a medium in the development of film review writing is carried out through seven steps. In summary, students were asked to sit back and watch a screening of the film When Love Is Prayed, and then the students wrote a film review. The majority of students can write a good When Love Is Good

Abstract

This article aims to describe the acquisition of language function of three-year-olds in an urban educated family environment. This research utilizes a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects are three-year-old children in an educated family environment in the city of Surakarta with a focus on language function. Data are obtained in school, family, and home environment. Data collection uses observation, recording, and note-taking techniques. Data analysis is performed using the translational, phonetic, and referential identity methods. Data validation applies to data source triangulation. The results of the research found three language functions acquired, including information function, exploration function, and persuasion function. The information function is obtained through the stimulation of the school environment, family environment, and play environment. The exploration function is utilized to convey the results of children's learning development. The function of persuasion is used by children to invite or seduce other people. It can be concluded that the three-year-old children are capable of acquiring various language functions with enough vocabulary to utilize them and stimulations at this stage are important and thus encouraged.
