Abstract

Leato Utara Sub-district, Gorontalo City, is an area with a high level of landslide hazard due to its hilly topography, steep slopes, and relatively high rainfall intensity. The main problem faced by the community is the low level of knowledge and preparedness in dealing with potential landslide disasters. This Community Service Program (CSP) aims to enhance community knowledge, awareness, and capacity in landslide disaster mitigation through education and assistance activities. The implementation methods include disaster mitigation counseling, participatory discussions, preparedness simulations, and mentoring in the formulation of simple mitigation measures based on local conditions. The target beneficiaries are residents living in landslide-prone areas of Leato Utara Sub-district. The results indicate an improvement in community understanding of the causes, early warning signs, and mitigation measures for landslides, as well as increased community preparedness in responding to potential disasters. In addition, the establishment of a shared understanding regarding preventive actions and emergency response serves as an indicator of the program’s success. This community service activity is expected to contribute to the development of a more resilient and disaster-prepared community in Leato Utara Sub-district, Gorontalo City.

Abstract

Dalam Perkembangan lingkungan sosial yang begitu pesat meningkatkan tantangan dan pengaruh yang begitu meresahkan bagi perkembangan pendidikan dan pembentukan pribadi anak, seperti meluasnya peredaran obat terlarang, pergaulan bebas, tawuran remaja sehingga menumbuhkan kekhawatiran pada orang tua. Sebagai antisipasi akan permasalahan tersebut, banyak munculnya konsep boarding school yang dianggap dapat mengawinkan sistem pendidikan pondok pesantren dan sekolah umum. Penghadiran Raudhah Islamic Boarding School untuk tingkatan SMA/MA diharapkan dapat menjadi pusat kegiatan pendidikan keagamaan sekaligus landmark religi di Provinsi Gorontalo. Konsep bangunan tunggal pada Raudhah Islamic Boarding School bertujuan agar segala aktivitas pengguna bisa lebih efektif. Adapun konsep yang akan diterapkan yaitu arsitektur post modern. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan yaitu melakukan pengumpulan data melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara dengan pihak terkait, serta mengidentifikasi aspek-aspek yang dapat diterapkan dalam perancangan, yang berkaitan dengan aspek teknis, aspek desain penataan yang sesuai dengan kriteria perancangan yang akan dicapai. Pedoman untuk melanjutkan desain dari Raudhah Islamic Boarding School ini menggunakan hasil laporan dari konsep perancangan yang diaplikasikan pada objek rancangan. Abstract

The construction of flood control structures in the area of the Isimu Solar Power Plant (PLTS Isimu) in Molowahu Village, Gorontalo Regency, requires continuous environmental monitoring to ensure the sustainability of the structures and to minimize environmental impacts on surrounding communities. However, community involvement in environmental monitoring around the project area remains limited, highlighting the need to strengthen the role of local communities through participatory-based approaches. This Community Service Program aims to enhance community knowledge, awareness, and capacity in conducting environmental monitoring around the flood control structures of PLTS Isimu. The program was implemented through socialization activities, environmental education, participatory discussions, and community assistance in understanding simple environmental monitoring indicators, including water flow conditions, sedimentation, and environmental cleanliness. The target beneficiaries were residents living in the vicinity of the flood control structures in Molowahu Village. The results indicate an improvement in community understanding and awareness of the importance of environmental monitoring, as well as increased community participation in maintaining the function of flood control structures and the surrounding environment. This program is expected to support sustainable environmental management and strengthen collaboration among communities, village authorities, and relevant stakeholders in flood mitigation efforts in Molowahu Village, Gorontalo Regency.
