Abstract

ABSTRACTIn recent years, there has been a strong emphasis on mental health, particularly among Generation Z students. Generation Z students are highly vulnerable to the negative effects of social media norms and expectations on their mental health. The purpose of this research is to examine how the mental health of Gen Z students is influenced by their level of social media use and resilience. This study employs a quantitative method with a correlational approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The respondents in this study consisted of 210 Gen Z college students aged 18-24 years, selected using accidental sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using an online questionnaire through Google Forms on social media, which included a psychological well-being scale, a resilience scale, and a social media usage intensity scale. The reliability of the psychological well-being scale was 0.909, the resilience scale was 0.951, and the social media usage intensity scale was 0.831. The analysis results show that psychological well-being is significantly influenced by the combined effects of resilience and social media usage intensity, p <.001.ABSTRACTDalam beberapa tahun terakhir, ada penekanan kuat pada kesehatan mental, terutama di kalangan siswa dari Generasi Z. Siswa Generasi Z sangat rentan terhadap efek negatif dari norma dan ekspektasi media sosial pada kesehatan mental mereka. Tujuan dari riset ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana kesehatan mental siswa Gen Z dipengaruhi oleh tingkat penggunaan dan resiliensi media sosial mereka. Metode kuantitatif berdasarkan pendekatan korelasional memakai analisis regresi linier berganda dipakai dalam riset ini. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 210 orang mahasiswa Gen-Z dalam rentang usia 18-24 tahun dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner secara online melalui google form di sosial media yang terdiri dari skala kesejahteraan psikologis, skala resiliensi, dan skala intensitas penggunaan media sosial. Reliabilitas pada skala kesejahteraan psikologis sebesar 0,909, pada skala resiliensi sebesar 0,951, dan pada skala intensitas penggunaan media sosial sebesar 0,831. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kesejahteraan psikologis dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh efek gabungan dari resiliensi dan intensitas penggunaan media sosial, p <.001.

Abstract

Memasuki masa pandemi Covid-19, pembelajaran tatap muka diubah menjadi pembelajaran daring sehingga memengaruhi prestasi akademik siswa. Beberapa faktor yang memengaruhi Prestasi akademik adalah emosi akademik dengan mediasi regulasi diri dalam belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji peran emosi akademik terhadap prestasi akademik selama pembelajaran daring dengan regulasi diri dalam belajar sebagai mediator. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif survei dengan analisis regresi model mediator. Data diambil dengan menggunakan Skala Regulasi Diri dalam Belajar, Skala Emosi akademik-Online, dan skor nilai UTS semester gasal. Jumlah subjek berjumlah 217 siswa SMA yang sedang melaksanakan pembelajaran daring, dipilih dengan purposive sampling. Hasilnya regulasi diri dalam belajar tidak terbukti berperan sebagai mediasi antara emosi akademik dan prestasi akademik (p=0.206, p>0.05). Analisis tambahan didapati Emosi akademik positif berperan terhadap Prestasi akademik melalui Regulasi diri dalam Belajar secara parsial (jalur (p) c dan (p) c' tidak terpenuhi), dan Emosi akademik Negatif memiliki berperan secara langsung dengan penurunan Prestasi Belajar (p=0.008, p<0.05). Regulasi diri dalam belajar secara signifikan berperan terhadap prestasi akademik (p=0.004,p<0.05). Siswa, guru maupun praktisi dapat mengembangkan situasi yang menciptakan emosi yang positif selama pembelajaran daring maupun meminimalisir emosi negatif dengan mengembangkan ketrampilan regulasi emosi dan menerapkan sosial-emotional learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of positive thinking training in enhancing self-confidence among Generation Z students. Generation Z is known as the generation that lives in the digital era, where face-to-face interactions tend to decrease due to reliance on technology and social media. This research employed an experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design involving experimental and control groups. The research sample consisted of 60 students selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was a self-confidence scale. Statistical analysis results indicate that positive thinking training significantly increased self-confidence in the experimental group compared to the control group. The findings highlight the importance of developing positive thinking training programs for students to improve their self-confidence in addressing social and academic challenges

Abstract

This study seek to ascertain the correlation between the perception of authoritarian parenting perception and career decision-making in college students. 100 enrolled college students participated in this quantitative study, which used a correlational methodology. The Authoritarian Parenting and the Career Decision-Making Scale were used to collect the data. The study's findings demonstrated a strong positive correlation between vocational decision-making and authoritarian parenting. With a Pearson correlation value of 0.238 and a significance level of 0.017 (<0.050), it shows that the higher the child's perception of the authoritarian parenting pattern of parents, the higher their career decision-making will be. Through this study, further researchers are advised to specifically select students who have a perception that their parents are apply an authoritarian parenting when determining respondents.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of self-control training on self-regulated learning in UNISA collage students involved in the MBKM program. This research employs a quantitative method with an experimental design, specifically a pre-test post-test control group design. The criteria for subjects in this study are: 1) UNISA students in Yogyakarta participating in the MBKM program in 2024; and 2) willingness to complete the entire training process. The sample of the study was taken using a purposive sampling technique. The number of participants was 14 students who were participating in MBKM, consisting of 12 females and 2 males aged between 20 and 23 years old. Data collection involves using quesionare of the Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) likert scale, observations, and training evaluations conducted according to the Self-Control Training module. Data analysis methods include paired sample t-test to examine differences between pre-test and post-test conditions within a single group and independent sample t-test to assess differences between two groups (experimental and control). Based on the research results, a 2-tailed significance value of 0.013 < 0.05 indicates a significantly positive effect of the intervention. Based on the research findings, a two-tailed significance value of 0.013 was obtained, which is less than 0.05, indicating a significant positive effect of the intervention. Consequently, the Self-Control Training has a positive impact on the enhancement of Self-regulated Learning among MBKM students. The data analysis process was conducted using SPSS version 23 for Windows.
