Abstract

This article aims to describe various social problems based on sociological perspective on education issues in this globalization area. As it was assumed thateducation plays more important role to increase some of the interesting parts of those whoconcentrate on that issue in order to maintain the high quality of the education alone. It isbecause the objectivity of the education is human being. By the help of socialization they are capable to maintain the function of educationboth in the society and themselves. Hence, there is a need of social interaction among thehuman being so the role of education should have been functioned well in the society.The authors focused more on education from the point of view of GravissimumEducationis (GE) enriched by the Bible and other documents.

Abstract

Indonesia has a motto Bhineka Tunggal Ika. It means unity in diversity. Thismotto binds all of Indonesian people to not to discriminate one nation from another,including race, skin color, religion, language, etc. The proper attitude in plurality is torespect and to appreciate one another. To respect and to appreciate are social basicattitudes that relevant in every encounter and togetherness with the others. Without these attitudes, our lives will be so vapid and full of social tensions because each personjust to prioritize his/her own interests and neglect even spoil the others’ interests.Respect and appreciation are shown by the act of recognition that there are the otherswho need to be noticed beside ourselves. Fraternity is a gift. This gift is a graceful lifethat makes us become Jesus’ brothers and sisters in the family of God. It is because faithand love, not because of blood relationship, feeling and the descendant. BhinekaTunggal Ika: a lot gifts but one Spirit.

Abstract

The diversity of the Indonesian nation is a given—a destiny bestowed by the Creator that must be respected and not taken for granted. Indonesia is home to a vast variety of cultures and religions, nearly unmatched in the world. According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2013, there are 1,331 tribes and sub-tribes in Indonesia, or 633 when grouped by major tribe. This study aims to: 1) Identify factors related to religious moderation. 2) Explore the values of religious moderation.The research uses a qualitative method, in which the author describes and explains the research object to categorize and conclude issues related to the understanding of youth in the Santa Maria Ratu Oeolo Parish regarding faith life. Young Catholics (OMK) require guidance from their parents to grow and develop as expected. OMK are an integral part of the Church, serving as examples and role models for others. They must also be able to face internal pressures from social culture and dynamics. Based on the research findings, it is concluded that Catholic Youth (OMK) in Santa Maria Ratu Oeolo Parish wisely avoid engaging in unwanted behaviors, such as alcohol consumption. Through fellowship, they share experiences and talents, which helps OMK better understand and connect with their community.
