Abstract

This study aims to obtain some information regarding the performance improvement that has occurred in the TDW Group, especially several business units due to the organizational culture formed through the coaching and mentoring process through case studies. The paradigm in this study uses Post-Positivism which is naturalistic. The data analysis performed is inductive based on the facts determined. This research was conducted at TDW Group which has 11 business units. The selection of informants in this study used a purposive sampling technique. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with data collection through; interviews, literature studies, and observation. Data analysis in this study used interactive model data analysis techniques, assisted by the NVivo 12 plus software. Tung Desem Waringin made the coaching and mentoring process gain interest for participants to participate in the process. Coaching and mentoring with the title Friday with TDW can instill a corporate culture Juni Bawa Tali (Jujur, Nilai Tambah, Tanggung Gugat dan Lingkaran Malaikat) so that it is well remembered and understood by staff from several business units. Finally, there is the influence of the implementation of corporate culture on employee performance, which can personally increase employee productivity.

Abstract

The impact of Covid-19 Pandemic towards Tung Desem Waringin (TDW) Business Group of companies becomes an academic study on corporate culture yang communication carried out as a qualitative descriptive research. The study is prompted by the VUCA known as Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity on Reshaping the Business Environment. Sunnie Gile who initiated the agile innovation approach by conducting all-hands meetings and speed up interactions on Reshaping the Business Environment has been applied. The recommendation of conducting a weekly meeting was followed through Zoom Webinar meetings which has resulted in positive staff members performance with the out-come that the positive aspects of TDW Group’s corporate culture becomes rooted, and as leaders are implementing well the necessary corporate communication. Further more, it did inspired the staff members in facing the difficult time as well as adjusting and coming-up with innovative ideas.

Abstract

TDW Group is a holding company founded by Tung Desem Waringin who is known as: The Best Speaker in Indonesia according to Marketing Magazine. Business leaders who have employees with diverse backgrounds, ages, cultures, knowledge, and experiences need an effective way to communicate with them. The interpretive approach is adopted from a practical orientation. The purpose of this study is to interpret behavior in detail by conducting direct observations of opinions and ideas that are valued (immanent value) as indicated by the absence of objections and interruptions when participants share experiences and other participants are actively involved in writing conclusions through the comments column. Through qualitative research with the triangulation method, the data analysis process uses NVivo. The final result of this study found an effective corporate culture communication process, easy to understand and embedded into work habits. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that participants are encouraged to involve themselves (self-determination) because they feel invited (to invite), involved (to enfold), their ideas are valued (meaningful) and listened to (to listen).
