Abstract

This study explores the application of Mughal architectural concepts to the facade of the Tengku Khalilullah Grand Mosque in Simeulue Regency. This mosque is an icon of Simeulue Regency, built with architectural elements influenced by Mughal culture, such as large domes, symmetrical gardens, decorative gates, and distinctive ornaments. With a qualitative approach, this study used observation and interview methods to collect primary and secondary data on the characteristics of the mosque's design.

Abstract

This researchaims to understand visitors' perceptions of thermal comfort in the Masjid Agung Istiqamah, Tapaktuan. The focus of this research is the aspect of thermal comfort within the mosque, encompassing temperature, humidity, and wind speed, which are measured using a thermohygrometer and an anemometer. Using mixed methods, the study records visitors' responses through observations and qualitative interviews, while quantitative data are obtained from measurements to determine the levels of temperature, humidity, and wind speed in the mosque. A decline in the number of visits to the Agung Istiqamah Mosque in Tapaktuan prompted this research.

Abstract

The mosque building was designed taking into account the need for quiet and low noise levels to support Muslim worship. This research aims to analyze the acoustic comfort of the Baitussalihin Ulee Kareng Mosque, Banda Aceh City. This research uses qualitative and quantitative methods (Mixed Methods). Observations began with measuring the background noise level and absorption coefficient using a sound level meter. Interview data was collected in a semi-structured manner using an interview guide for visitors to the Baitussalihin Ulee Kareng Mosque. The data analysis technique used is descriptive technique.

Abstract

A house as a shelter for the occupants requires ventilation, both natural and artificial, to achieve thermal comfort. Openings allow air to circulate in and out of the building, thus affecting the humidity and temperature of the building. The research was located in the Type 36 Mutiara Baet Residence housing complex, in Baet Village, Baitussalam District, Aceh Besar Regency. The case study is a house facing west, east, north, and south which has openings without direct sunlight. Using a mixed method research method, which combines qualitative and quantitative models.

Abstract

Rumoh Aceh is a traditional building that is one of the cultures and identities of Aceh. Partly in Rumpet Village, Aceh Besar Regency, there are several Acehnese houses that are still being lived in. Rumoh Aceh in Rumpet Village totals 9 units, and all of them are occupied as residential houses. The problem in this research is how the shape change and typology of the form of Aceh rumoh in Rumpet Village.
