Abstract

English language is increasingly important for many people around the world to engage and communicate with one another as the globe quickly transitions to the new era of digitalization and limitless communication. The study explores the descriptive elaboration and deeper understanding on the use of role-playing activities to boost students’ fluency and confidence in English speaking among university students. The study used a descriptive qualitative method which applicated various methods to collect the data. The present study employed class observation on speaking indicators, analysis on students’ reflective learning journal, and a semi-structured interview to some students. Thematic analysis was used to identify key themes that emerged from the data. There were 50 students observed and 10 students in English for communication class at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional, were interviewed to confirm about the highlighted aspects journaling related to the specific aspect on role-play activities. The findings of this study highlight the impact of role-playing activities on improving students’ fluency in English speaking, enhancing students’ confidence through repeated practice, and reducing the speaking anxiety to be ready for the global competitive English skill.

Abstract

Learning activities conducted in the classrooms are essential to attain students‟ comprehension and participation in the learning process. The efforts to acquire students‟ engagement in the class activities are totally assisted by the advancement and rapid growth of digital technology. The digital has put more load on the integration of technology in teaching and learning process. The university lecturers do not only need to master the content and pedagogical knowledge but also, involve a provision to integrate those two components with technology. It is aimed to create a meaningful learning in the 21st century learning environment. The integration of technology can also promote students‟ digital literacy and the importance of 4Cs competences in the 21st century of English as Foreign Language (EFL) learning. This study is intended to investigate the Microblog Video Project as a Meaningful Learning Media to enhance university students‟ comprehension in EFL learning. The microblog video project was focused on students‟ speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills in describing global issues and also the implementation of 4Cs. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with classroom observation and a semi-structured interview conducted to 15 students who have had a microblog video project as their middle test in General English class at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas University) Denpasar, Bali. The results of this study revealed that the microblog video project has advantageous impacts for students in their learning process on EFL learning holistically.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of public relations in managing public information through the SMILE Puskesad application at Tk. II Udayana Hospital as part of efforts to enhance transparency and improve the quality of health services. Employing a qualitative method with a case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, documentation, and a review of relevant literature. The findings indicate that information management is carried out through monitoring patient satisfaction survey data, verifying and classifying reports, formulating information messages, and coordinating follow-up actions with related service units. Public relations also play a role in educating the public on the use of the application, although several challenges persist, including low levels of digital literacy among patients, limited internal socialization, and suboptimal digital communication strategies. Tk. II Udayana Hospital addresses these obstacles by strengthening coordination, utilizing digital media, and reinforcing the role of public relations as an information bridge between the hospital and the community. More specifically, the study demonstrates that optimizing the role of public relations directly contributes to the effectiveness of public information delivery through the SMILE Puskesad application, resulting in information that is more accurate, accessible, and capable of increasing public participation in patient satisfaction surveys

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of marketing communication in the implementation of the 7P marketing mix strategy at the heavy equipment rental business CV. Dana Karya. Effective marketing communication is considered crucial in building customer loyalty, enhancing service quality, and strengthening the company’s position in a competitive market. The research used a qualitative approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews with 7 informants, including 2 primary informants and 5 supporting informants, as well as direct observation of the company’s operations. The analysis was conducted by linking field findings with the theory of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) and the 7P marketing mix concept, covering Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, and Physical Evidence. The results show that personal communication through WhatsApp, telephone, and direct interaction (Personal Selling) is the most effective channel for building long-term customer relationships, while Word of Mouth (WOM) serves as a natural promotion that enhances the company’s credibility. The application of the 7P marketing mix strategy supports service quality, where People, Process, and Physical Evidence significantly contribute to customer satisfaction. In addition, flexible pricing and the excellent condition of heavy equipment units serve as key differentiators compared to competitors. The study concludes that integrating marketing communication with the 7P marketing mix consistently can increase customer loyalty, service satisfaction, and business sustainability of CV. Dana Karya, with recommendations to strengthen digital promotion and develop a customer relationship management (CRM) program to expand market reach and retain loyal customers.

Abstract

This community service (Summer Social Work #4) activity aimed to improve students’ public speaking skills and self-confidence in using English at SMA Negeri 1 Ubud. The background of this activity was based on students’ low confidence in speaking English in public despite having formally studied English at school. The method employed in this program was practice-based training, implemented through interactive lectures, discussions, simulations, and direct public speaking practice in English. The activity was conducted in several sessions involving tenth- and eleventh-grade students. The results indicated improvements in students’ self-confidence, speaking courage, and ability to express ideas orally in English. The discussion of the findings suggests that a practice-based approach and a supportive learning environment played an important role in reducing students’ speaking anxiety. In addition, students’ active participation during the training strengthened their positive attitudes toward the use of English in academic contexts. These findings confirm that community service–based public speaking training can be an effective strategy to support English language learning at the secondary school level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi visual dan naratif yang diterapkan pada akun Instagram @joyful.denpasar sebagai cerminan komunikasi pemerintah daerah yang humanis. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi konten periode Januari-Juni 2025 dan wawancara mendalam dengan pengelola akun serta lima informan masyarakat, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi elemen visual berbasis budaya Bali dan narasi komunikatif berhasil membangun citra Pemerintah Kota Denpasar yang lebih dekat, transparan, dan responsif. Konsistensi penggunaan warna hangat, simbol budaya lokal seperti penjor dan ornamen tradisional, serta gaya bahasa yang tidak birokratis menciptakan komunikasi dua arah yang efektif. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat mempersepsikan pemerintah sebagai institusi yang peduli dan mudah diakses melalui strategi komunikasi digital ini. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi praktis bagi pemerintah daerah lainnya dalam mengembangkan strategi komunikasi yang partisipatif dan selaras dengan kebutuhan masyarakat di era digital.
