Abstract

Every child who is hospitalized will experience feelings of insecurity such as unfamiliar surroundings, separation from parents, lack of information, loss of freedom and independence. Even though the child is sick, the need to play remains. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of coloring therapy on the anxiety of preschool children in the upper Edelweys room of Bhayangkara Hospital Level III Manado. This type of research uses a "one group pre-test-post-test design" design. The population in this study were 59 preschool children. The sample in this study was 16 children. The results of this study indicate that from the samples studied, there is an Effect of Coloring Therapy on the Anxiety of Pre-School Children, obtained a value of ρ = 0.000 <α = 0.05. There is an Effect of Coloring Therapy on the Anxiety of Pre-School Children in the Upper Edelweys Room of Bhayangkara Hospital Level III Manado. The results of this study are expected to be input for research locations, especially for mothers and nurses in dealing with children who are being treated in hospitals so that they can provide play therapy to children so that they can reduce anxiety in children due to hospitalization.

Abstract

Based on the health profile in 2019, approximately 52.9% of the total number of children suffer from bronchopneumonia. West Papua has 129.1% of children with bronchopneumonia cases, DKI Jakarta 104.5%, North Kalimantan 67.9% and Sulawesi reaching 86.2%. Breathing exercises in children using the pursed lips breathing method are used to remove secretions and free air trapped in the lungs. Knowing pursed lips breathing in pediatric patients with bronchopneumonia focuses on adjusting the respiratory system for ineffective airway clearance. This research method uses a case study method with a single case nursing care approach as the unit of analysis. The unit of analysis is a pediatric client with bronchopneumonia with an intervention of providing pursed lips breathing for 15 minutes in pediatric patients with bronchopneumonia. Based on the results of the existing assessment, the priority diagnosis was found to be Ineffective Airway Clearance (D.0001) associated with airway hypersecretion. The application of Pursed Lips Breathing that has been carried out on pediatric patients with Bronchopneumonia can be concluded that Pursed Lips Breathing can help slow breathing, increase respiratory efficiency and reduce shortness of breath.

Abstract

Dementia is a disease of the brain organs and usually this disease is progressive and chronic. One of the cognitive stimulation therapies used to overcome dementia is brain exercises, where brain exercises are one of the interventions that can be used to improve the cognitive function of a person with dementia. The results of this study with the application of evidence based nursing brain gymnastics were carried out for 3 days, the results of the evaluation were found that brain gymnastics was effective in improving cognitive function in Mrs. M. L from a score of 13 increased to 21. Conclusion: This scientific paper has an improvement in cognitive function in Mrs. M. L with dementia who experiences memory impairment after being given brain exercises. Advice: to all health workers to be able to provide action and education on the application of brain exercises to clients with dementia.
