Abstract

Acute respiratory tract infections (ARIs) are still a public health problem at present. This disease is very dangerous because it can be a precursor to pneumonia and stunting in children. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of ARIs in Akelamo Village, East Sahu District, West Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province, Indonesia. Crosssectional methods were used in this research. The total population was 52 children which were then calculated using proportional sampling techniques to obtain 37 children as the research sample. The research results show that the child's nutritional status and the mother's education level have a significant relationship with the occurrence of ARIs. Therefore, the role of health workers is very necessary to provide education about the use of local food to improve children's nutrition and education about preventing ARIs needs to be carried out more intensively.

Abstract

The prevalence of gout disease reaches 4.75% of the 10% population. Based on data in Indonesia, it is estimated that around 2.3% of 273,879,750 people suffer from gout arthritis. Based on data from the National Centers for Health Statistics, it is estimated that 34.2% of gout arthritis cases occur in developing countries and 26.3% of gout arthritis cases in developed countries (WHO, 2019). North Sulawesi Province is the 8th province in Indonesia with the highest prevalence of joint disease at 8.35%, while for the city of Manado, the prevalence of joint disease data was 7.27%. One therapy that can be used to reduce pain in gout arthritis patients is warm water compresses. The results of a case study conducted by researchers found two nursing problems that were raised as nursing diagnoses, namely chronic pain and sleep pattern disorders, and after two days of nursing care, there were changes where the nursing problems of pain and sleep pattern disorders were resolved with complaints of pain and difficulty sleeping decreased. The provision of comprehensive nursing care can address the nursing problems experienced by clients.

Abstract

People with schizophrenia will experience interference in their independence in carrying out functions and roles in daily life, such as caring for themselves, going to school or work and other functions. The factor that causes the high recurrence rate of schizophrenia is that families do not know how to handle clients with mental disorders when they return to the family environment, making it a burden for the family. Family psychoeducation is a form of family mental health care therapy by providing information and education through therapeutic communication. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of family psychoeducation therapy on the level of independence of people with mental disorders at the Prof. Mental Hospital. Dr. Vl. Ratuumbuysang, Manado City. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The research was carried out in May 2025 at the Prof. The conclusion from the research results is that there is an influence of family psychoeducation therapy on the level of independence of people with mental disorders at the Prof. Mental Hospital. Dr. Vl. Ratumbuysang Manado City.

Abstract

A warm compress is a compress performed using a heated flask wrapped in cloth, which is conducted through conduction, where heat is transferred from the flask to the body, causing blood vessel dilation and reducing muscle tension, thus reducing or eliminating pain. The purpose of this research is to implement Gerontic Nursing Care for Mrs. M with Osteoarthritis Through the Application of Warm Compress Therapy to Reduce Pain Intensity at the Damai Ranomuut Nursing Home. This research, using evidence-based nursing, demonstrated the effectiveness of warm compresses in reducing gouty arthritis pain in Mrs. M for 3 days. The evaluation results showed that warm compresses were effective in reducing osteoarthritis pain in Mrs. M. There was a decrease in osteoarthritis pain in Mrs. M after the warm compresses were given. Hopefully, the results of this research will increase knowledge and the ability to provide nursing care to clients with osteoarthritis pain problems and be able to implement nursing interventions based on the Evidence-Based Practice approach.

Abstract

Harga diri merupakan faktor utama penentu kesehatan jiwa manusia. Harga diri rendah ialah perasaan yang negatif terhadap diri sendiri yang menyebabkan individu kehilangan kepercayaan diri, munculnya sifat pesimis, serta merasa tidak berharga dalam kehidupannya. Positive self talk therapy merupakan terapi berbicara hal-hal baik atau positif terhadap diri sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan positive self talk therapy dalam mengatasi masalah harga diri rendah kronis. Terapi ini bertujuan untuk membantu klien memiliki pola pikir dan persepsi yang lebih baik terhadap diri sendiri sehingga membantu meningkatkan harga diri klien karena harga diri sangat bergantung pada pola pikir dan persepsi atau penilaian terhadap diri sendiri. Sebelum diberikan terapi self talk positif, klien mengatakan bahwa dirinya tidak berguna, tidak mempunyai keahlian, dan takut ditinggalkan oleh istrinya. Setelah diberikan terapi, klien mengatakan bahwa ia merasa lebih tenang setelah mengikuti latihan positive self talk therapy dan meyakini bahwa semua orang berguna dan mempunyai keahlian masing-masing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intervensi positive self talk therapy terbukti efektif dalam mengatasi masalah harga diri rendah. Diharapkan positive self talk therapy dijadikan sebagai salah satu intervensi yang dapat diberikan kepada pasien yang mengalami kecemasan, memiliki sifat pesimis, ketidakpercayaan diri, dan harga diri rendah.
