Abstract

The importance of the research was to prepare educational units according to the Pinterch model for the subjects of international law handball for students and to identify the effect of those units on the cognitive achievement of the subjects of international law handball for students of the experimental group. As the research problem was represented in the researcher’s attempt to delve into and use the Pinterch model to provide students with the knowledge side of the subjects of international law in handball because the law contains overlap and situations that the student cannot master except through the use of modern methods and methods where the learner has the freedom to choose what he learns and in the way that It suits it, so the researcher tried to use this model as a step to address the weakness in the cognitive side of the international law of handball for students. While the objectives of the research were to prepare educational units according to the Pintersch model for the subjects of international law handball for students. As well as identifying the effect of educational units according to the Pinterch model in the cognitive achievement of the subjects of international law handball for students of the experimental group.

Abstract

Background: The importance of this research lies in preparing handball players with enhanced physical and skill capabilities through modern methods such as competitive plyometric training. The study was motivated by observed performance inconsistencies among Iraqi handball teams, particularly a decline in players' physical and technical execution toward the end of matches. This issue is attributed to the use of traditional training programs, which fail to develop the players’ physical fitness and technical performance adequately.  Objective: This study examines the effects of competitive plyometric training on handball players' speed, strength, and defensive skills. Methods: The research was driven by the observation that many teams in the Iraqi Handball League exhibit performance decline toward the end of matches, which is attributed to inadequate physical and skill preparation under traditional training programs. An experimental design was used, involving 18 young male players from the Karbala Handball Club, divided randomly into experimental and control groups. The experimental group followed an 8-week competitive plyometric training program, while the control group continued with standard training. Result: Results showed significant improvements in the experimental group's speed-strength and defensive skills compared to the control group. Conclusion: In conclusion, competitive plyometric training effectively enhances physical and skill performance in handball players and is recommended as part of structured training programs. It is recommended that future research explore the long-term effects of competitive plyometric training across different age groups and levels of play, to determine its applicability and sustainability in improving athletic performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the team teaching strategy on learning several offensive basketball skills among students. A quantitative experimental method was used, involving a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 20 students selected through total sampling. The instruments used were tests of offensive basketball skills including passing, dribbling, and lay-up. Data analysis used the t-test to compare the pretest and posttest results. The findings showed a significant increase in students’ offensive basketball skills after the implementation of the team teaching strategy. The t-value (15.96) was higher than the t-table value (1.729) at a 5% significance level, indicating a statistically significant improvement. The average pretest score was 9.45, while the posttest average rose to 14.3. This suggests that the team teaching strategy positively influences students’ learning outcomes in basketball offensive skills. The implication of this research is that team teaching can be an effective instructional strategy to enhance technical performance in sports, especially in complex skill-based activities like basketball. In the future, this research may serve as a valuable reference for developing innovative teaching models and for further studies on collaborative instruction across different sports and educational levels.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to determine the impact of the gradual activities’ strategy on students’ performance of certain offensive handball skills as well as whether the experimental and control groups’ effects on students’ performance of these skills are superior in the post-test. By creating two identical groups (experimental and control) with pre- and post-tests, the researcher employed the experimental technique to fit the nature of the research problem. For the 2023–2024 academic year, 90 second-year students from the University of Karbala’s College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences were part of the research community. A total of 40 students were chosen for the study and split into two groups: an experimental group and a control group, each with 20 students. The statistical package (SPSS) was used to statistically process the data for the variables being studied. Using educational units based on the gradual activities’ strategy has a significant impact on students’ development of the complex offensive skills under study and their motivation to perform some of the more difficult offensive skills in handball, according to one of the researcher’s most significant findings. Using educational units in accordance with the gradual activities’ strategy, which greatly aided students in developing the complex offensive skills under study, and the necessity of implementing contemporary study techniques because they improve learning levels were the researcher’s two most important recommendations.

Abstract

Background. The study explores the impact of educational strategies on students"™ sports performance, focusing on the Know-Want-Learn (K.W.L.) strategy in handball training. Objectives. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of an educational program based on the K.W.L. strategy in enhancing the performance of students in executing single and group fast attacks in handball. Methods. An experimental design was adopted involving identical experimental and control groups, each comprising 20 students (totaling 40). Pre-tests and post-tests were administered to both groups. The experimental group received instruction using the K.W.L. strategy, while the control group followed traditional methods. Data were statistically analyzed using the T-test in SPSS version 20. Results. The findings revealed that the K.W.L. strategy significantly improved the performance of the experimental group in both single and group fast attacks. Additionally, the strategy fostered better student interaction, contributing to the experimental group"™s superiority over the control group. These results support the effectiveness of metacognitive strategies in sports education. Conclusion. The findings of this study confirm that the application of educational units based on the Know"“Want"“Learn (K.W.L.) strategy has a significant positive effect on students"™ performance in both single and group fast attacks in handball. The researcher's most significant recommendations are to encourage individuals participating in the educational process to not confine themselves to traditional methods and approaches and to educate using them.
