Abstract

The advancement of digital technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), has driven significant transformation across various business sectors, including Sharia-based digital businesses. This study aims to comprehensively examine the potential, challenges, and opportunities of integrating AI into Sharia-compliant digital business using a qualitative, literature-based approach. The findings indicate that AI contributes significantly to enhancing operational efficiency, maintaining adherence to Sharia principles, and strengthening financial inclusion and economic distribution among the Muslim community. The application of AI has proven effective in detecting non-Sharia elements, supporting the management of halal finance, and accelerating services based on Islamic ethics. However, ethical and normative challenges must still be addressed, especially concerning algorithmic fairness, personal data protection, and the limitations of AI in understanding the complexity of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). Therefore, collaboration among technology experts, business practitioners, and Islamic scholars is essential to ensure that the use of AI aligns with the objectives of Sharia (maqashid syariah). Abstract

The rapid digital transformation has reshaped the landscape of the financial services sector, including the growth of Islamic finance through the emergence of Sharia-compliant financial technology (fintech) platforms. This study aims to analyze the strategic position of Islamic fintech in Indonesia using a SWOT analysis framework to identify its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats within the digital economy ecosystem. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research collects secondary data from various relevant literature and policy documents. The analysis reveals that the primary strength of Islamic fintech lies in its compliance with Sharia principles and its established institutional legitimacy. Its weaknesses include the low level of Islamic financial literacy and a shortage of human resources with dual competencies in both technology and Islamic jurisprudence. Opportunities include strong national policy support for the Islamic economy, a large Muslim market share, and a growing trend toward digitalization. However, Islamic fintech also faces serious threats such as the dominance of conventional fintech entities, data security risks, and suboptimal public trust. These findings highlight the urgent need for integrative strengthening strategies through technological development, improved Islamic financial literacy, and comprehensive policy support, enabling Islamic fintech to play a significant role in promoting inclusive, fair, and sustainable financial development in Indonesia.Keywords : digital economy, financial inclusion, financial literacy, islamic fintech, SWOT analysis

Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) memiliki peran krusial dalam perekonomian Indonesia, menyumbang lebih dari 60% terhadap Produk Domestik Bruto (PDB) dan menyerap lebih dari 97% tenaga kerja. Namun, UMKM menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam mengakses pembiayaan, terutama yang berkaitan dengan persyaratan yang ketat dari lembaga keuangan tradisional. Sebagai solusi alternatif, crowdfunding syariah muncul sebagai instrumen pendanaan yang berbasis prinsip-prinsip syariah Islam, yang menghindari praktik riba, gharar, dan maysir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi potensi crowdfunding syariah dalam meningkatkan akses pendanaan bagi UMKM di Indonesia, dengan fokus pada dampaknya terhadap pengembangan usaha serta tantangan yang dihadapi dalam implementasinya. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini menggali pemahaman mendalam mengenai mekanisme crowdfunding syariah, melibatkan wawancara dengan pelaku UMKM, penyedia platform, dan ahli di bidang keuangan syariah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa crowdfunding syariah memberikan peluang besar bagi UMKM untuk mengakses modal secara adil dan transparan, serta mendukung inklusi keuangan. Namun, tantangan terkait literasi keuangan syariah, regulasi yang belum memadai, dan infrastruktur digital yang perlu diperkuat masih menjadi hambatan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menyarankan perlunya kolaborasi antara pemerintah, lembaga keuangan, dan penyedia teknologi finansial untuk menciptakan ekosistem yang mendukung pertumbuhan crowdfunding syariah, serta optimalisasi literasi dan regulasi untuk memaksimalkan potensi crowdfunding syariah dalam pengembangan UMKM.
