Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab tidak optimalnya refrigerator dan bagaimana cara perawatan refrigerator diatas kapal latih Jhon Lie milik Politeknik Pelayaran Sulawesi Utara. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara pengamatan langsung diatas Kapal Latih Jhon Lie yang sementara sandar di Pelabuhan Amurang. Data Penelitian ini diperoleh melalui Metode Lapangan (Field research) yang dilakukan dengan cara mengadakan peninjauan langsung pada objek yang diteliti. Data dan informasi dikumpulkan secara Observasi yaitu mengadakan peninjauan atau pengamatan secara langsung dilapangan di atas kapal latih john lie dan mengadakan diskusi sesama kelompok penelitian dan metode Tinjauan Kepustakaan (Library Research) yang dilakukan dengan cara membaca dan mempelajari literatur, buku- buku, dan tulisan-tulisan yang berhubungan dengan masalah yang dibahas. Untuk memperoleh landasan teori yang akan digunakan dalam membahas masalah yang diteliti, data diperoleh dari internet yang mengacu tentang refrigerator yang ada diatas kapal. dan buku yang jadikan referensi. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab tidak optimalnya refrigerator kapal latih john lie dan untuk menganalisis pemecahan masalah tidak optimalnya refrigerator kapal latih john lie.

Abstract

Diesel engines are machines that are very necessary in the industrial world, both manufacturing and transportation. How important is the existence of this diesel engine that it needs to be maintained properly to maintain its performance. With the development of diesel fuel variants, it is necessary to conduct research regarding the phenomena produced by burning biodiesel, especially the B35 type which is widely consumed in the industrial world. The aim of this research is to determine the performance of diesel engines, are specific fuel oil consumption and thermal efficiency produced by diesel engines using B35. The experimental method was applied by varying the load of 0.35 kW, 0.7 kW, 1.05 kW, 1.4 kW and 1.75 kW on an engine speed of 1500 RPM. The results show that the highest specific fuel oil consumption is at a load of 0.35 kW, that is 1361 mg/kWh, while the highest thermal efficiency at a load of 1.75 kW reaches 17.25%.

Abstract

Indonesian seas offer abundant renewable energy potential. Seawater batteries have attractive advantages as a source of electrical energy. The purpose of this study was to design and manufacture a seawater battery and test its performance for ship lighting. The methodology used includes designing and manufacturing a seawater battery storage container based on electrode dimensions, assembling electrodes and insulators, and testing battery performance using LED lights. The results showed that the design produced an 8-cell seawater battery with a height of 24 cm and a diameter of 17.78 cm (7 inches). Performance testing with a 7 W LED lamp for 60 minutes showed that higher salt content caused an increase in the average light intensity produced. In 8 W and 10 W LED lamps, it is known that an increase in the average light intensity produced only occurs at an increase in salt content of 3 to 4%, while an increase in the average light intensity at a salt content of 5% does not occur, iii) average salt content -an average of 4% on a seawater battery with a 60 minute test for a 7W LED lamp produces an average light intensity of 227.33 lumens, for an 8W LED lamp an average of 325 lumens, and for a 10W LED lamp an average of 604, 67 lumens. The greater the power of the LED lamp used, the greater the light intensity produced.
