Abstract

The traditional Minahasa wooden house is an integral part of Indonesia's cultural heritage. However, in this modern era, the challenge of preserving cultural authenticity while introducing it to the technological era is becoming increasingly urgent. This research aims to design a Smart Home System concept integrated with Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Power Plant for traditional Minahasa wooden houses. The objective of this study is to identify the potential for integrating smart home technology and PV Solar Power Plant in Minahasa wooden houses and to develop a concept that combines traditional elements with modern technology. The research methodology will involve a literature review to understand the concepts of smart homes, PV Solar Power Plant, and the characteristics of traditional Minahasa wooden houses. Additionally, descriptive research through interviews will be conducted in collaboration with industry partners to obtain data and examples of traditional Minahasa wooden houses to be used as benchmarks in the concept design. This research can contribute to integrating modern technology into Indonesia's cultural traditions while enhancing the competitiveness of Minahasa wooden house products in the market. The result of this research is a conceptual design for the implementation of a Smart Home System integrated with a PV rooftop solar power plant system in Minahasa wooden houses. The utilization of solar energy as electrical energy is predicted to achieve an annual energy yield of 16,775 kWh.

Abstract

Various raw materials with enhanced benefits have been discovered for the toiletries industry. One promising material is coconut shell charcoal powder (Cocos nucifera), which can be used as a base ingredient in herbal toiletries formulations. However, its production process still faces challenges, particularly in terms of technology and operations, especially for small and medium enterprises. Therefore, this study aims to design a control system concept for a coconut shell charcoal powder processing unit integrated with a PV system. The methods used include a literature review and a descriptive study through interviews with practitioners and academics specializing in charcoal powder production systems and herbal toiletries formulation. The result of this study is a conceptual design of a control system equipped with a remote monitoring system to oversee and regulate the coconut shell charcoal powder production process more efficiently.

Abstract

Kebutuhan akan pengembangan alat praktek untuk menunjang pencapaian kompetensi pada peserta didik terus meningkat. Salah satu kebutuhan alat praktek yang perlu dikembangkan adalah kemampuan penginstalan alat praktek Pembangkit listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) dengan sistem instalasi off-Grid sederhana. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan suatu konsep rancangan alat praktek pada aplikasi atap datar dengan pengaturan sudut tertentu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekperimental dengan pengaturan sudut penginstalannya dengan komponen utamanya yaitu panel surya, Solar Charge Controler (SCC), Battery dan Inverter. Pengujian kerja alat menunjukan pola yang sesuai dengan fungsi alat. Pada pengujian tilt angle 30o, intensitas cahaya matahari maksimum terjadi pada tengah hari yaitu 144540 lux, dengan Isc sebesar 7,32 A dan Voc 27,05 V, sehingga output daya pada PV adalah 198,01 W. Pada pengujian dengan beban, tegangan keluaran inverter sebesar 223V dan arus sebesar 0,46A.
