Abstract

The Effect of the Discovery Learning Model Assisted by Diorama Media on Science Learning Outcomes of Fifth Grade Students at SD Negeri 20 Pulubala. Thesis. Department of Elementary Teacher Education. Faculty of Education. Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The supervisor is Prof. Dr. Abdul Haris Panai, M.Pd., MCE and the co-supervisor is Dr. Gamar Abdullah, S.Si., M.Pd.The research question in this study is "Does the discovery learning model assisted by diorama media affect the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 20 Pulubala?" The type of research used is quantitative research. This study employed the Pre Experimental Design method with the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The independent variable in this study is the Discovery Learning model assisted by diorama media, and the dependent variable is science learning outcomes. The population of this study consists of all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 20 Pulubala, totaling 14 students. Data collection in this study was carried out using a multiple-choice test method. Data analysis in this study included a normality test, hypothesis testing using the t-test, and N-Gain Score test.The normality test showed normal distribution values based on the research results and discussions. Subsequently, hypothesis testing using SPSS 29 yielded a significant value (one-tailed) of 0.001 <0.05, with the criteria that if the significant value is smaller than 0.05, then HO is rejected and H1 is confirmed, meaning that there is an effect of the discovery learning model assisted by diorama media on the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 20 Pulubala. The improvement in student learning outcomes is indicated by an N-Gain Score of 0.63 or 63%, which falls into the moderately effective category.

Abstract

This class action research examined whether the application of the PBL model with the Baamboozle game could improve student learning outcomes in science subjects of grade V of SDN 43 Hulonthalangi. This study aimed to improve student learning outcomes on human digestive system material through the application of the PBL model with the baamboozle game. This study used 23 students in grade V as the subject. Based on the analysis, the PBL model assisted by the Baamboozle game escalated the student learning outcomes on the human digestive system material. In the first cycle, 14 students (60.9%) reached the minimum completeness standard (have not achieved the success indicator and required the 2nd cycle implementation) and increased to 19 students (82.6%) in the 2nd cycle. In conclusion, the PBL model assisted by the Baamboozle game can improve the learning outcomes of students in grade V of SDN 43 Hulonthalangi.   Keywords: learning outcomes, PBL model, baamboozle game

Abstract

The research conducted by Syabrina Gobel in 2025 aims to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on the food chain material in class V of SD Negeri 1 Molibagu, Bolaang Uki District, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi Province. The background of this research is the low learning outcomes of students in science subjects. The purpose of this study is to determine how the application of the PjBL model can improve the process and learning outcomes of students on the food chain material. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) involving 13 students and 1 class teacher as subjects in the 2024/2025 academic year. The focus of the research is on the process and learning outcomes of students. The instruments used include test sheets, observation, and documentation. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation of teachers and students, learning outcome tests, and documentation. Data analysis goes through three stages, namely data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research was carried out in three cycles, each of which includes the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results of the study showed an increase from the category of Less Good (cycle I), Sufficient (cycle II), to Good (cycle III). In conclusion, the implementation of the PjBL model has been proven to be able to improve the process and results of student learning in the food chain material.

Abstract

Differentiated instruction is an instructional approach designed to accommodate differences in students’ readiness levels, interests, and learning profiles, and is particularly relevant to elementary science education characterized by diverse learner backgrounds. This study aimed to describe the implementation of differentiated instruction in fourth-grade science classes at SDN 2 Kabila, Bone Bolango Regency, to identify the challenges faced by teachers, and to examine the implementation of assessment practices within differentiated learning. This research employed a qualitative descriptive design. The participants consisted of a fourth-grade teacher and fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that differentiated instruction was implemented through differentiation of content, process, product, and learning environment, and contributed to increased student engagement and motivation in science learning. However, several challenges were identified, including limited instructional time, a relatively large class size, and the complexity of comprehensive assessment. Assessment practices included diagnostic, formative, and summative approaches, although further optimization is required. In conclusion, differentiated instruction plays a significant role in fostering inclusive and meaningful science learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The research problem in this study is whether the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model supported by audio-visual media can improve students’ learning outcomes in the IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) subject in Grade V of SDN 3 Botupingge. This study aims to enhance students’ learning outcomes through the application of the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by audio-visual media in the IPAS subject. The research method employed was Classroom Action Research (CAR), utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The subjects of this study were 23 fifth-grade students of SDN 3 Botupingge. The results indicated that in Cycle I, of the 23 students उपस्थित, the percentage of students who achieved mastery learning was 34.78%. In Cycle II, the percentage significantly increased to 91.70%. The predetermined success indicator, namely that at least 75% of students achieve mastery learning, was successfully attained. It can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by audio-visual media effectively improves students’ learning outcomes in the IPAS subject in Grade V of SDN 3 Botupingge.

Abstract

The research problem in this study is: “Is there any effect of the discovery learning model assisted by Nearpod media on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of energy in daily life in Grade IV of SDN 1 Kabila?” The objective of this study is to determine the effect of the discovery learning model assisted by Nearpod media on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of energy in daily life in Grade IV of SDN 1 Kabila. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of all fourth-grade students, with a sample of 20 students. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed that the mean pretest score was 48.75, while the mean posttest score was 87.75. A comparison of the mean scores indicates that the posttest score was higher than the pretest score. Hypothesis testing was conducted using SPSS version 25.0, which showed that t-count = -21.250 > t-table = 1.725, or based on the significance value sig = 0.000 < α = 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the discovery learning model assisted by Nearpod media on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of energy in daily life in Grade IV of SDN 1 Kabila.

Abstract

The research problem addressed in this study is: "Is there an effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by flipbook media on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of Earth's structure in Grade V at SDN 1 Kabila?" This study aims to determine the effect of the PBL model supported by flipbook media on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of Earth's structure. This research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of all fifth-grade students, with a sample of 20 students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation as supporting data. The results showed that the average pretest score was 38.5, while the average posttest score was 87. A comparison of these results indicates that the posttest average score is significantly higher than the pretest average score. Hypothesis testing was conducted using SPSS version 25.0, revealing that t_calculated = 14.176 > t_table = 1.725, or based on the significance value, sig = 0.000 < α = 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by flipbook media has a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of Earth's structure in Grade V at SDN 1 Kabila.
