Abstract

The movement of the Sumatran fault is triggered by plate activity in the western subduction zone of Sumatra, namely the Indo-Australian plate which moves down the Eurasian plate, causing pressure to push the Sumatra region towards the north. The purpose of this study is for the results of Ascending and Descending data on the impact of faults that occur on the Semangko Segment Sianok fault from 2020-2023 and to map the Land Displacement of the Semangko Segment Sianok fault from 2020-2023. Based on the results of data processing in this study, it can be concluded that in this study using ascending and descending direction data that experienced land movement (Land Displacement) due to this movement the impact of faults that occurred due to seismic activity along the segment resulted in the impact of natural disasters such as landslides, and earthquakes. This impact was triggered due to land movement because the effects of surface faults and ground shaking did cause most of the damage in several events. The ascending data explains the annual uplift of 15.28 mm marked in dark blue and the red color on the map shows the subsidence of -30.55 mm per year, while the light bitu color dominates in urban areas or areas inhabited by many people. While in the descending data, changes in land movement show an annual uplift of 6.74 mm and the red color shows subsidence of -13.47 mm per year. From the color change of each data shows ascending and descending data experiencing land subsidence uplift and subsidence.

Abstract

Aerial photo mapping requires Control Points (CP). The Indonesian National Standard 8202:2019 regulates the number of CPs needed. The smallest area regulated is less than 250 km². Projects with an area of less than 1 km² have the same number of CPs as those with an area of less than 250 km². This is neither effective nor efficient because the CP work depends on the number of workers and requires time based on access to the project site. This study aims to identify the minimum number of CPs and the appropriate distribution of CPs for aerial photo mapping at a scale of 1:2,500 class 1 that is effective and efficient in terms of time and cost. The study uses seven schemes. Schemes 1 and 7 use 4 Ground Control Points (GCP) and 5 Independent Control Points (ICP). Scheme 2 uses 5 GCPs and 4 ICPs. Schemes 3, 4, 5, and 6 use 3 GCPs and 6 ICPs. Each scheme will be evaluated based on CE90 and LE90 values. The maximum CE90 value is 0.75 m, and the LE90 value is 0.5 m. The effective and efficient scheme in terms of time and cost is determined by the number of GCPs used, as well as the CE90 and LE90 values. The results indicate that all schemes have CE90 and LE90 values below the maximum standard. Scheme 4 is identified as the most effective due to having the highest CE90 and LE90 values among the schemes, with CE90 at 0.028 m and LE90 at 0.448 m. Scheme 4 is also identified as the most efficient because it uses a minimal number of GCPs—only three—distributed diagonally from the Southeast to the Northwest in the project area.

Abstract

Accurate elevation determination is one of the crucial aspects in oil and gas exploration activities, especially in the planning and management of well areas. This study aims to identify and compare the elevation of the Digital Terrain Model (DTM) obtained from aerial photography with terrestrial measurements, and to convert Digital Surface Model (DSM) data into DTM. The urgency of this study is driven by the need for accurate, efficient, and economical mapping methods, as well as validation of the methods used in topographic mapping. Digital Terrain Model (DTM) is a virtual model that adds elements such as fault lines and observations to correct artifacts from the original data, while DSM includes the height of all objects on the ground surface. The results showed that the largest elevation value in the aerial photo DTM was 14.416 meters at point L06 and the smallest elevation value was 6.567 meters at point A46, with an average elevation of 13.716 meters. Meanwhile, the comparison results of DTM elevation of aerial photography with terrestrial measurements showed the largest difference of 5.513 meters at point A46 and the smallest difference of -2.682 meters at point L21, with an average difference of 0.072 meters. The level of vertical accuracy (Z) based on the LE90 value is 0.2076 meters, which meets the geometric accuracy standard of 1:1000 class 1 scale according to BIG Regulation Number 15 of 2014. The results of this comparison are also supported by a 3D model of DTM elevation of aerial photography. This study provides an important contribution to the validation and improvement of the efficiency of topographic mapping methods based on aerial photography, as well as providing an overview of the accuracy of the data produced.

Abstract

Aerial photo measurement aims to provide a real, fast, and interactive representation of the Earth's surface. Various methods of aerial photo acquisition and correction can be applied to obtain accurate results. The primary objective is to produce photos that present reliable and precise information consistent with actual conditions. A commonly used method in aerial photo mapping is the utilization of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The correction methods applied include direct correction, known as the Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) method, and post-processed correction, known as the Post-Processed Kinematic (PPK) method. This study aims to identify the highest horizontal orthophoto quality based on the Indonesian Geospatial Information Agency Regulation (BIG) No. 6 of 2018 concerning RBI map accuracy, by comparing the RTK and PPK methods, as well as variations in flight altitude during UAV data acquisition. The research conducted in Lemo II Village, Teweh Tengah District, North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan Province revealed that the highest horizontal orthophoto quality was achieved using the PPK correction method at a flight altitude of 120 meters, with a horizontal RMSE value of 0.048 meters and an accuracy of 0.073 meters, which meets Class 1 standards at a 1:1000 scale. These values were obtained from tests conducted on 15 ICP points. Additional tests performed to determine the significance of model and method differences indicated that variations in flight altitude and photo correction methods have a significant impact on horizontal orthophoto quality.

Abstract

Coal is one of the main energy sources and the largest contributor to national revenue; however, its management faces challenges related to limited availability and accuracy in reserve estimation. An essential aspect of mining management is monitoring the Run of Mine (ROM) volume, which plays a critical role in crushing, washing, and blending processes. This study aims to compare the accuracy of ROM volume measurements using Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) methods in the production area of PT FAD, Berau Regency, East Kalimantan. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, involving field data acquisition, three-dimensional modeling, and volume analysis using specialized software. The results show that ROM volume measured with TLS was 1,407.669 lcm, while UAV produced 1,387.357 lcm, with a difference of 20.312 lcm or 1.45%. This deviation is within the ASTM D6172-98 tolerance limit (<2%), indicating that both methods are valid. Although TLS offers higher accuracy, UAV is more effective and efficient in terms of measurement time, making it a reliable alternative for modern mining monitoring. This study provides practical insights for the mining industry in selecting ROM volume measurement methods that are not only accurate but also efficient in supporting sustainable operations and data-driven decision-making.

Abstract

Class C sand mining activities in Nagari Aia Dingin, Lembah Gumanti District, Solok Regency have been ongoing since 1999 and continue to expand to this day. This mining provides economic contributions to the local community, but on the other hand, it also has a significant impact on the environment, particularly on land cover changes. This study aims to analyze changes in open land caused by sand mining activities, using remote sensing technology as a monitoring tool. The approach used is descriptive quantitative, through the interpretation of Google Earth satellite imagery in 2015 and 2018 and Sentinel-2 imagery in 2024. Spatial analysis was conducted with the help of ArcGIS software to obtain a visual and numerical picture of land cover changes. The results of the study indicate a significant increase in the area of sand mining from 2015 to 2024. In 2015, the mining area was recorded at 8.72 hectares, and increased to 22.14 hectares in 2024. This indicates an increase in mining land area of 13.42 hectares over a nine-year period. Land use conversion has occurred on a massive scale, from dryland forest, scrubland, and dryland areas to open-pit mining areas. This land cover change has the potential to cause environmental degradation such as erosion, reduced biodiversity, and disruption to regional water systems. These findings underscore the importance of stricter monitoring and sustainable spatial planning in natural resource management. The use of remote sensing technology has proven effective in monitoring the dynamics of land use change and can serve as a basis for formulating environmental policies that are more responsive to the impacts of mining activities.

Abstract

Business expansion is a strategic step undertaken by companies to increase profitability while broadening their market reach. Hoka Hoka Bento (HokBen) is one of the companies that consistently implements this strategy. This study aims to identify potential locations for new HokBen outlets in Depok City by utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis. Several parameters were considered, including proximity to commercial and entertainment centers, competitors, educational facilities, public facilities, road networks, population density, banking services, hotels, offices, residential areas, hospitals, existing stores, and places of worship. The analysis was conducted using Euclidean Distance, Buffering, Reclassification, and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the priority weights of each criterion. These weights were then integrated through the Weighted Overlay technique to produce a location suitability map. The findings reveal that the most influential factors are commercial and entertainment buildings (0.101), road networks (0.099), and educational facilities (0.092). The resulting suitability map highlights potential areas across Depok City, particularly in zones close to community activity centers. The results demonstrate that GIS-based multicriteria analysis is effective for mapping location suitability and identifying strategic zones for expansion. Therefore, this research contributes to supporting the company’s strategic decision-making through data-driven approaches while also enriching the academic field of business geography and urban planning. In addition, the outcomes can be applied as a reference model for other fast-food chains or retail industries planning spatially optimized expansion strategies in highly competitive urban environments.
