Abstract

This research aims to improve students' Mahārah Al-Kitābah (writing ability) through learning calligraphy. The problem raised was the low writing skills of students in elementary schools, which had an impact on their ability to convey ideas and information effectively. This research used an experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design, involving two groups of students: one group who were taught to write using calligraphy techniques and a control group who followed conventional learning. Research findings showed that the group that received calligraphy learning experienced significant improvements in Mahārah Al-Kitābah compared to the control group. The average post-test score of the calligraphy group increased by 30% compared to the pre-test, indicating the effectiveness of this method in improving writing skills. The implications of this research indicate that integrating calligraphy learning in the curriculum can be an effective strategy for improving students' writing skills, as well as fostering their interest and love for the art of writing. In addition, the results of this research can be a reference for educators in designing more innovative and interesting teaching methods to improve Arabic language skills in schools.

Abstract

This research addresses the low writing ability among third-grade students at SD Negeri No. 106214 Sei Parit. The study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of a “Word Wall” learning media based on the enactive, iconic, and symbolic approach to improve students’ writing skills. The research employed the ADDIE development model, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The validation results showed that the developed media was feasible to use, obtaining scores of 84.6% from media experts and 80% from material experts. The effectiveness test also indicated a significant improvement in students’ writing achievement, with the average score increasing from 40.95 to 85.6 and an N-Gain of 0.8 (high category). In addition, the practicality assessment showed that the media was practical to implement, with teacher responses reaching 84.2% and student responses reaching 75.7%. Thus, the Word Wall media is categorized as feasible, effective, and practical for enhancing elementary students’ writing skills.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the importance of Arabic as the main foundation in understanding Islamic teachings, especially the Qur'an, hadith, and Islamic literature. This study highlights the challenges and opportunities for learning Arabic in the modern era which is characterized by technological advances and digitalization. It was emphasized that learning Arabic is a crucial element in Islamic education in order to maintain the relevance of Islamic values in the midst of changing times. This study uses a qualitative method based on Library Research by collecting data from books, journals, articles, and official documents. The results of the analysis show that Arabic plays a significant role in facing the Society 5.0 era, not only as a means of communication, but also as the main link to explore Islamic teachings. Recommendations include curriculum development, the application of innovative methods, and adaptation to the dynamics of the times in order

Abstract

Early reading ability is a fundamental competency for elementary school students; however, some students still experience difficulties in recognizing letters and reading syllables, words, and sentences fluently. One contributing factor is the suboptimal use of instructional media that align with students' learning characteristics. This study aimed to examine the effect of audiovisual media on the early reading ability of second-grade students in the Indonesian Language subject at MIS Al Khoirot. The research employed a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 40 students selected through total sampling. Data were collected through early reading ability tests administered before and after the intervention and were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a Paired Sample t-Test. The findings revealed that the students' mean score increased from 88.88 in the pretest to 96.80 in the posttest. The hypothesis test yielded a significance value of 0.001 (< 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference in reading ability before and after the implementation of audiovisual media. These findings demonstrate that audiovisual media are effective in improving students' early reading skills. The study implies that audiovisual media can serve as an alternative instructional strategy to enhance student engagement and support the development of reading skills in lower elementary grades.
