Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the level of learning outcomes of eighth-grade students using virtual laboratory media and conventional media, (2) there is a difference in students’ learning outcomes who taught by using virtual laboratory-based learning media and conventional media. Sample used purposive sampling technique with a population of all eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Mallusetasi consisting of 3 classes with a total of 64 students. There are 21 students in the experimental class and 16 students in the control class. The instruments in this study were a previously validated pretest and posttest learning outcome tests in the form of multiple-choice questions through Google Form. Validity analysis applied Gregory analysis, with a consistency coefficient of 100% where indicates strong consistency of the instrument. Data analysis techniques included descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of the analysis concluded that: (1) The level of learning outcomes of students after being taught using virtual laboratory-based media is categorized as low with score 0,19 and students after being taught using conventional media is categorized as low with score 0,10 (2) There is a difference in the learning outcomes of students in the use of virtual laboratory media and conventional.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the ability to interpret students' graphs. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The sample of this study used a random sampling technique, with the sample classes being VIII 7, VIII 8, VIII 9, and VIII 10. The research instrument is a 24 numbers of multiple-choice questions. Research results: 1) The ability to interpret graphs at 65.97% in the moderate category, 2) comprehend the information presented in the graph at 73.61% medium category, 3) Analyze the relationship in the graph at 79.17% medium category, 4) Draw conclusions based on the graph at 72.22% medium category, and 5) Present data in graph form at 65.97% medium category. The ability to interpret graphs by students is still in the moderate category, therefore educators must plan the lessons that can improve the ability to interpret graphs appropriately.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) improvement of science learning outcomes of seventh grade students through the application of differentiated learning assisted by E-worksheet; 2) improvement of each indicator of science learning outcomes; and 3) significant differences in science learning outcomes before and after implementation. This research used pre-experiment method with One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The population was 34 seventh grade students of SMP IT Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar. The sample, taken by random sampling, obtained class VII A.I with 17 students. Data were collected through multiple choice tests, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that: 1) the application of differentiated learning assisted by E-worksheet improves science learning outcomes with an N-Gain of 0.42 in the moderate category; 2) the increase in each indicator is in the moderate category with an N-Gain on C1 (Remembering) of 0.36; C2 (Understanding) 0.37; C3 (Applying) 0.52; and indicators of determining experimental variables, hypotheses, problem formulations of 0.41 each and experimental objectives of 0.47. The C4 (Analyzing) indicator has an N-Gain of 0.25 and concluding experimental results of 0.18, both in the low category; 3) there are significant differences in science learning outcomes before and after implementation.
