Abstract

Abstract

In 2023, Indonesia’s population of children under five reached 30.2 million. Current data indicates that 33.44% of early childhood individuals are exposed to digital devices, with many facing risks of psychological, cognitive, and socio-emotional impairments. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between gadget screen exposure and the developmental status of children aged 12–72 months. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted at Posyandu Puskesmas Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta, in 2025. A sample of 60 respondents was selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Pre-Screening Developmental Questionnaire (KPSP) and a maternal questionnaire regarding gadget usage. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate (Chi-square) analysis. Bivariate analysis revealed a significant relationship between gadget exposure and developmental status ($p < 0.05$). High gadget exposure was predominantly associated with "doubtful" or "deviant" developmental outcomes. Excessive gadget use negatively impacts child development. It is crucial for health workers and parents to implement early stimulation and strict screen-time monitoring to ensure optimal growth.

Abstract

Perineal pain following vaginal delivery is a prevalent issue that significantly impacts postpartum quality of life and surgical incision recovery. Non-pharmacological interventions, notably thermal therapies, offer a non-invasive alternative to medication. This systematic review evaluates the efficacy of non-pharmacological methods on perineal pain intensity and wound healing during normal postpartum recovery. A systematic search was performed across Google Scholar and NCBI PubMed for studies published between 2014 and 2025. Following PRISMA guidelines, 9 articles were selected for qualitative synthesis. Findings indicate that warm compresses facilitate vasodilation, enhancing blood circulation and tissue regeneration. Conversely, cold compresses effectively induce local analgesia, reducing inflammation, edema, and nerve sensitivity. Both methods significantly decrease pain scores and accelerate the REEDA (Redness, Edema, Ecchymosis, Discharge, and Approximation) healing scale. Non-pharmacological methods are safe, cost-effective, and evidence-based interventions that should be integrated into standard midwifery and nursing protocols to optimize maternal recovery.

Abstract

For adolescent girls aged 15–19 around the world, complications from pregnancy and childbirth are the main cause of death. With girls under 15 being up to five times more likely to pass during delivery, this group has substantially more hazards than older women. Contributions include physical maturity, insufficient prenatal care, and socioeconomic obstacles. Correcting these inequalities is essential to raise maternal and teen health results worldwide. Adolescent mothers have a higher risk of problems including preterm birth, anemia, and preeclampsia. Their babies are more prone to have low birth weight, developmental delays, and greater death rates. Socially, teenage mothers sometimes face stigma, limited educational and job prospects, and economic hardship, therefore sustaining cycles of poverty and social injustice. This review aims to examine how common and serious maternal problems, like preeclampsia, anemia, and infections, are in teenage pregnancies. It also looks at serious issues for babies, such as low birth weight, preterm birth, and neonatal death. Finally, it studies the longterm health effects on both teenage mothers and their children, physical, psychological, and developmental aspects. Using keywords pertaining to teenage pregnancy and maternal and foetal health outcomes, the systematic review will include studies published in English or Indonesian from 2010 to 2023 focusing on teenage pregnancies (ages 10–19), maternal and foetal health outcomes, conduct thorough database searches using PubMed, and Google Scholar Teen mothers may struggle to meet the nutritional demands of pregnancy, leading to complications like preeclampsia, anemia, and a higher chance of cesarean births.
