Abstract

This study aims to identify strategies that can be implemented to improve teacher performance at Namira Islamic School, an Islamic-based educational institution in North Sumatra. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods to obtain more comprehensive results. The population consists of 104 teachers, with a sample of 51 respondents selected using purposive sampling techniques. Based on a SWOT analysis, Namira Islamic School's strengths include high teacher competence, an inclusive work culture, and solid management support. Development opportunities can be leveraged through partnerships with other institutions and the use of technology. However, weaknesses such as heavy workloads, unequal salary systems, and a lack of comprehensive performance evaluations pose significant challenges. This study recommends strategies to improve performance through more effective workload management, the development of technology-based programs, strategic partnerships, and infrastructure enhancement.

Abstract

The study examines the impact of workload and motivation on employee performance, with job satisfaction acting as a mediating variable, at PT Jasa Raharja North Sumatra Branch. A quantitative approach using path analysis was employed to assess relationships among variables. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire from employees selected via proportionate stratified random sampling. The findings indicate that workload negatively affects job satisfaction, while motivation positively influences both job satisfaction and employee performance. Additionally, job satisfaction significantly enhances performance and serves as a crucial mediator in the relationship between workload, motivation, and performance. These results highlight the importance of managing workload efficiently and fostering motivation to improve employee job satisfaction and overall performance. The study provides valuable managerial implications, suggesting that organizations should optimize workload distribution and implement motivation-enhancing strategies to maximize employee productivity. By integrating job satisfaction as a strategic factor, companies can create a more conducive work environment, ultimately leading to better performance outcomes. This research contributes to the existing body of knowledge by confirming the mediating role of job satisfaction in workplace dynamics and offering practical insights for corporate human resource management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of interpersonal communication and work motivation on job satisfaction of contract employees (PKWT) at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional Office II. The plantation sector, especially palm oil, has an important role in the Indonesian economy, but the work contract system is often associated with low levels of job satisfaction. Lack of interpersonal communication and work motivation are thought to be the main factors affecting job satisfaction of contract employees. This study uses a quantitative approach with the causal associative method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 61 contract employees and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The classical assumption test was also conducted to ensure the validity of the research model. The results showed that interpersonal communication had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. The better the communication between employees and superiors, the higher the job satisfaction felt. Work motivation also had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, where employees with high motivation tended to be more satisfied with their jobs. Simultaneously, interpersonal communication and work motivation had a significant effect on job satisfaction of contract employees. These findings emphasize the importance of improving communication between employees and superiors as well as providing incentives and career development opportunities to increase work motivation to improve employee job satisfaction.
