Abstract

Background: Heart disease is not only a threat of pain but also a disease that lurks with the threat of death. This disease can cause a high death rate. According to WHO 2018, around 31% of all deaths in the world, and the majority or around 8.7 million, are caused by heart disease. According to Riskesdas 2018, the prevalence in Indonesia reached 1.5%. Heart disease can be triggered by various lifestyle factors, including a lifestyle with smoking habits, consuming alcohol, exercise habits, the habit of consuming pickled and preserved foods, and a history of obesity. Objective Objective: find out the description of the lifestyle of heart disease sufferers at the Sidikalang Regional General Hospital, Dairi District in 2024. Method: This type of research was descriptive, and carried out from January to April 2024. The population in this study is 235 people with heart disease, using an accidental sampling technique, the total sample was 70 people. Results: Lifestyle after suffering from heart disease, the majority did not smoke as much as 61.42% and were heavy smokers as much as 10%, the majority did not have the habit of consuming alcohol as much as 68.51% and had the habit of consuming alcohol frequently alcohol 12.85%, the majority do exercise enough as much as 22.4% and do not exercise 14.7%, the majority sometimes consume pickled and preserved foods as much as 37.14%, and those who do not consume salted and preserved foods as much as 21.42% , the majority were not obese as much as 37.1% and obesity was 11.9%. Better health services are expected to provide education about the lifestyle of heart disease sufferers.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular utama yang menjadi penyebab kesakitan dan kematian di dunia. Rendahnya pengetahuan masyarakat serta minimnya kesadaran untuk melakukan pemeriksaan rutin menyebabkan keterlambatan diagnosis dan komplikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi efektivitas program edukasi kesehatan dan deteksi dini dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan serta sikap masyarakat terhadap pencegahan hipertensi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimen yang dilaksanakan di Puskesmas Batang Beruh, Kecamatan Sidikalang, Kabupaten Dairi, Sumatera Utara, tahun 2025. Sebanyak 30 responden dewasa dipilih dengan purposive sampling. Intervensi mencakup edukasi kesehatan (ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi) dan pemeriksaan hipertensi (tekanan darah, kolesterol, dan gula darah sewaktu). Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner pre-test dan post-test, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Sebelum intervensi, 50% responden memiliki pengetahuan kurang, 33,3% cukup, dan 16,7% baik. Setelah edukasi, pengetahuan meningkat dengan kategori baik mencapai 50% dan pengetahuan kurang menurun menjadi 16,7%. Satu minggu setelah intervensi, pengetahuan baik meningkat lagi menjadi 66,7%. Perubahan sikap juga signifikan: sikap positif meningkat dari 23,3% sebelum edukasi menjadi 80% setelah intervensi dan bertahan pada evaluasi satu minggu kemudian. Edukasi kesehatan berbasis masyarakat yang dipadukan dengan deteksi dini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap terhadap pencegahan hipertensi. Program edukasi yang berkelanjutan sangat penting untuk memperkuat kesadaran masyarakat dan mendorong penerapan gaya hidup sehat. Kata Kunci: Hipertensi, Edukasi Kesehatan, Pemberdayaan Masyarakat, Deteksi Dini, Penyakit Tidak Menular.  ABSTRACT Hypertension remains one of the leading non-communicable diseases worldwide and a major contributor to morbidity and mortality. Limited public knowledge and low participation in routine screening contribute to delayed diagnosis and complications. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of health education and early screening in improving knowledge and attitudes toward hypertension prevention in the community. A quasi-experimental study was conducted at Batang Beruh Health Center, Sidikalang District, Dairi Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, in 2025. Thirty adult participants were recruited using purposive sampling. Interventions included structured health education sessions (lectures, discussions, demonstrations) and hypertension screening (blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood glucose measurement). Data were collected through pre-test and post-test questionnaires and analyzed descriptively.  Before the intervention, 50% of respondents had poor knowledge, 33.3% moderate, and 16.7% good. After education, knowledge improved, with 50% categorized as good and 16.7% poor. One week later, 66.7% maintained good knowledge. Attitudinal changes were also observed, with positive attitudes increasing from 23.3% to 80% post-intervention. Community-based education and early screening significantly improved knowledge and attitudes toward hypertension prevention. Sustained and continuous health education programs are essential to strengthen community awareness and promote healthy lifestyles. Keywords: Hypertension, Health Education, Community Empowerment, Early Detection, Non-Communicable Diseases.

Abstract

Hypertension is called "The Silent Killer", because it often has no symptoms, so sufferers are not aware of their condition before complications arise. According to Riskesdas in 2018 the number of hypertension sufferers in Indonesia was 34.11%. Hypertension can be triggered by several factors, namely age, gender, occupation, BMI, genetics, intake of salty foods and salt, consuming alcohol. Research Objective to determine the characteristics of hypertension sufferers in the working area of ​​the Sumbul Community Health Center, Dairi District in 2024. The type of research is quantitative descriptive research carried out in January - May 2024. The population of this study is 221 people with hypertension, sampling technique used accidental sampling with a total sample of 44 respondents. The way to collect data is by distributing questionnaires. The data is analyzed using bivariate and univariate analysis. Then the data is processed using SPSS. the characteristics of hypertension sufferers are that the majority are aged ≥ 61 years and over, 59.09%, 56.82% are female, the majority of respondents work as farmers, 40.91%, the majority have a fat BMI, 56.82%, the majority do not have a family history of hypertension sufferers as much as 59.09%, the majority consume salty/salt every day as much as 47.73%, the majority did not consume alcohol as much as 59.09%, the majority did not smoke as much as 68.18%, the majority do exercise 3 times a week as much as 43.18%. It is hoped that community health center officers will provide education about hypertension to the community.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kabupaten Dairi merupakan salah satu wilayah yang rentan terhadap bencana tanah longsor. Setelah terjadinya bencana, sebagian besar dari populasi korban yang mengalami bencana akan memiliki respon trauma psikologis normal, sekitar 15-20% korban menderita gangguan mental sedang/ringan yang mengarah pada kondisi Post Traumatic Stress Disorder dan 3- 4% korban akan menderita gangguan mental berat seperti psikosis, depresi berat serta ansietas/kecemasan yang tinggi. Untuk mengatasi atau menghilangkan traumatic dapat dilakukan dengan terapi Emotional Freedom Technique. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam bentuk penyuluhan dan demonstrasi mengenai Emotional Freedom Technique untuk mengatasi atau melepaskan trauma atau pemulihan trauma akibat bencana tanah longsor di Desa SiArung-Arung Kecamatan Parbuluan Kabupaten Dairi. Sasaran kegiatan adalah masyarakat (berusia 17 tahun sampai usia 65 tahun) berjumlah 61 orang. Tujuan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat tentang trauma healing “Emotional Freedom Techniques”. Dari hasil pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada peningkatan yang signifikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat tentang terapi EFT sebelum dan setelah dilakukan edukasi. Diharapkan kepada tenaga kesehatan khususnya pemegang program kesehatan jiwa di Puskesmas Sigalingging untuk melakukan monitoring pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat tersebut. Kegiatan ini hendaknya dapat ditindaklanjuti ke daerah lain yang rawan bencana di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Sigalingging Kata Kunci: EFT, Trauma Healing, Tanah Longsor  ABSTRACT Dairi Regency is one of the areas that is vulnerable to landslides. After a disaster occurs, the majority of the population of victims who experience a disaster will have a normal psychological trauma response, around 15-20% of victims will suffer from moderate/mild mental disorders which lead to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and 3-4% of victims will suffer from severe mental disorders. such as psychosis, severe depression and high anxiety/anxiety. To overcome or eliminate trauma, Emotional Freedom Technique therapy can be done. This community service is carried out in the form of counseling and demonstrations regarding the Emotional Freedom Technique to overcome or release trauma or recover from trauma caused by landslides in SiArung-Arung Village, Parbuluan District, Dairi Regency. The target of the activity is 61 people (aged 17 years to 65 years). The aim of this Community Service is to increase the community's knowledge and skills regarding trauma healing "Emotional Freedom Techniques". From the results of the community service carried out, it can be concluded that there was a significant increase in the community's knowledge and skills regarding EFT therapy before and after the education was carried out. It is hoped that health workers, especially mental health program holders at the Sigalingging Community Health Center, will monitor the knowledge and skills of the community.
