Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to reduce parenting stress in parents with children with congenital heart disease (CHD). This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test-post-test control group design. The participants in this study were 30 parents who had children with congenital heart disease, who were randomly divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was given MBCT intervention for 8 sessions, while the control group did not get any intervention. Parenting stress measurements were carried out before and after the intervention using the Parenting Stress Index (PSI). The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant difference in parenting stress scores between the experimental group and the control group after being given MBCT intervention (p<0.05). The experimental group experienced a greater decrease in parenting stress scores compared to the control group. The provision of MBCT intervention is effective in reducing parenting stress in parents who have children with congenital heart disease. The results of this study can be considered in the development of psychological interventions to overcome parenting stress in parents with children with CHD

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Terapi Penerimaan dan Komitmen, Kecemasan, Warga Binaan Menjelang Bebas AbstractMental health problems in prisons are three times higher than in the general population and are more common among women. As they approach their release date, inmates are prone to psychological problems such as anxiety due to uncertainty about the future and difficulty finding employment. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in reducing the anxiety levels of inmates approaching their release date. The research method used a quasi-experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of three inmates. The instrument used was the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). The ACT intervention was administered individually in six weekly sessions. The results showed that ACT was quite effective in reducing anxiety, with an N-Gain value of 68.33% (quite effective category). The aspect that experienced the most change was the physiological aspect, with a 75.47% reduction in anxiety. In conclusion, ACT is quite effective in reducing anxiety among inmates approaching release. As a result, ACT can be applied as a psychological intervention in correctional institutions with the assistance of professional psychologists to support the mental readiness of inmates prior to their release. Keywords: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Anxiety, Inmates Approaching Release

Abstract

Nilai N-Gain sebesar 60,2% menunjukkan efektivitas cukup baik. Temuan mengindikasikan ACT efektif meningkatkan regulasi emosi melalui pengembangan fleksibilitas psikologis pada individu dewasa awal dengan NSSI, memberikan implikasi praktis bagi intervensi berbasis bukti dalam penanganan NSSI. Kata Kunci: Regulasi Emosi, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Non-Suicidal Self-Injury  AbstractNon-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) represents self-damaging behavior without suicidal intent that has become a serious concern in mental health, particularly among emerging adults. Emotion regulation difficulties constitute a primary risk factor for NSSI emergence, where individuals employ self-injurious behaviors as maladaptive coping mechanisms to release suppressed emotions. This study aimed to examine the effect of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on enhancing emotion regulation among emerging adults engaging in NSSI. The research employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design with three female participants aged 19-25 years selected through purposive sampling. Emotion regulation was measured using the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale-Short Form (DERS-SF) administered before and after six ACT intervention sessions. Paired Sample T-Test results demonstrated significant differences in emotion regulation levels before and after intervention. Emotion dysregulation scores decreased by 45.4% with moderate effect size. N-Gain value of 60.2% indicated reasonably good effectiveness. Findings suggest ACT effectively enhances emotion regulation through psychological flexibility development in emerging adults with NSSI, providing practical implications for evidence-based interventions in NSSI management. Keywords: Emotion Regulation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Non-Suicidal Self-Injury
