Abstract

This research explores leadership's role in improving employee performance in a CA company engaged in printing. Using a qualitative approach, the research involved in-depth interviews with five employees to understand how leaders can motivate and create a productive work environment. The results indicated that effective leadership involves open communication and support for individual development so each employee feels valued and motivated to contribute to their full potential. Leaders who are sensitive to employees' needs can identify hidden potential within the team, which contributes to improved overall performance. The research also identified challenges that leaders face, such as a lack of morale among employees and negative peer influence, which can hinder productivity. Leaders need to create a positive and inclusive work atmosphere and provide fair rewards to boost motivation. The findings not only provide insights for leaders in CA but can also serve as a reference for other organizations looking to optimize employee performance through the right leadership approach. This research confirms the important role of leadership in creating a harmonious and accomplished team in the work environment. Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of Word of Mouth (WOM) on the purchase decision of Sinom-Tap products. Using a qualitative approach, the study involved in-depth interviews with five purposively selected customers, based on their experience with the product. The findings show that positive customer experiences have a significant impact in shaping recommendations, where recommendations from friends and family are much more trusted than commercial advertisements. Social media plays an important role in accelerating the spread of WOM and increasing the credibility of recommendations. The limitation of this study lies in the relatively small number of respondents, so generalisation of the findings may be limited. Nevertheless, this study makes an important contribution to the marketing literature by highlighting the dynamics of WOM in the context of health products in Indonesia, which remains under-explored. The originality of this study lies in its holistic analysis of the factors that influence WOM effectiveness, including speaker characteristics, topics discussed, and communication tools used, as well as important implications for marketing strategies in the digital era. The findings are expected to provide useful insights for marketers in optimally utilising WOM to increase loyalty and sales growth.

Abstract

This study investigates how social interaction and organizational context influence employee performance at PT Chemico Surabaya. Employing a qualitative case study design, this research captures firsthand accounts from workers navigating daily tasks. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with six respondents, each chosen for their role and active participation in the department’s initiatives. The findings revealed that friendly relations among peers sharply boosted motivation, strengthened teamwork, and cultivated a shared sense of ownership. Similarly, a constructive organizational climate with open leadership, reliable resources, and inclusive practices further uplifts overall output. Together, these insights urge managers to build a culture that prioritizes positive relationships and enabling conditions. This study remains limited by its single-site focus and small sample size, prompting future scholars to extend the inquiry through larger longitudinal studies or cross-firm comparisons.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how internal creativity culture and co-creation with external communities interact in shaping effective social media strategies in creative small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Using a qualitative approach with a single case study design at WSB, a figurine-based creative industry SME in Surabaya, data were collected through in-depth interviews with internal and external parties, participant observation, and digital artifact analysis. The findings indicate that WSB internalizes creativity culture through team autonomy, risk tolerance, and collaborative rituals involving all organizational functions. Co-creation mechanisms are implemented systematically with transparent dialogue, early access for the community, and formal recognition of fan contributions that build a sense of ownership and loyalty. The synergy of these two dimensions creates a dynamic capability that orchestrates internal and external ideas into authentic content that is emotionally resonant and adaptive to platform dynamics. Theoretically, this study expands the Resource-Based View perspective by positioning creativity culture and co-creation capacity as dynamic capabilities that transform intangible resources into sustainable competitive advantages. Practically, these results provide recommendations for creative SMEs to develop an inclusive creative ecosystem that positions social media as a strategic asset rather than a mere promotional channel.

Abstract

Abstract

Digital transformation has changed the marketing paradigm in the public sector, including vocational training institutions. This study aims to identify the digital marketing strategy of the Sidoarjo Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP) through Instagram, evaluate the effectiveness of various types of content, measure their impact on increasing training program enrollment, and provide strategic recommendations for future optimization. Using a qualitative approach with a single case study design, data were collected through systematic observation of the official Instagram account, in-depth interviews with purposively selected informants, and analysis of institutional documents. These were then analyzed using a qualitative analysis model with triangulation and member checking to ensure validity. The results show that an educational value-based content strategy generates superior organic engagement compared to direct promotion, where short educational video content serves as a catalyst for attention and interest through algorithmic amplification, while alumni testimonials activate a social proof mechanism that reduces uncertainty for potential participants at the desire stage. However, optimal utilization of Instagram is hampered by bureaucratic structural limitations including limited human resources, budget, a multi-tiered content approval process, and difficulties in measuring return on investment. The conclusion confirms that Instagram is an effective digital marketing instrument for increasing public awareness and interest in vocational training programs, but its potential has not been fully realized due to institutional constraints, so optimization requires structural reforms in the form of appointing dedicated digital marketing personnel, streamlining content approval protocols, and integrated tracking infrastructure in addition to tactical optimization of content.
