Abstract

The relationship between humans and the natural environment is a central theme in social geography, illustrating the reciprocal interaction between humanity and nature. Humans utilize and modify the environment to meet their needs, while the environment influences societal life patterns. This study employs a literature review approach to explore three main aspects: the interaction between humans and nature, the impacts of environmental changes on humans, and environmental management policies. The findings reveal that while humans possess the ability to alter nature, uncontrolled exploitation often leads to environmental degradation, such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change. Conversely, the environment shapes various aspects of human life, including settlement patterns, livelihoods, and culture. Sustainable environmental management policies are essential for achieving harmony between humans and nature. In this context, philosophical thought provides ethical and existential foundations to holistically address environmental challenges, emphasizing human responsibility as an integral part of the ecosystem. Collaborative efforts from various stakeholders are necessary to establish a balance that supports the sustainability of both human and natural life in the future. Abstract

In increasing public participation in elections, the low level of citizen participation in the previous election process was caused by a lack of understanding, such as: about the importance of the right to vote and election procedures, as well as the digital divide which made it difficult for people to access information related to elections. This research aims to examine how socialization activities initiated by MBKM can increase community awareness and understanding of the importance of elections and motivate them to actively participate in the democratic process at the village level, especially Dotuhe village. This study was conducted using qualitative research methodology with library study methods. research), which focuses on collecting and analyzing secondary data to produce accurate and relevant information. The results of the research show that socialization through MBKM Election activities is effective in increasing public participation in elections. This is proven by the increase in the number of voters in the presidential election in Dutohe village in 2024 compared to the previous year. Apart from that, MBKM Election activities also help increase public awareness about the importance of elections and raise their voices and their role in determining the country's leaders.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Urgensi kegiatan ini yaitu pentingnya membekali siswa dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitigasi bencana gempa bumi melalui simulasi evakuasi, mengingat wilayah Tutuyan merupakan daerah rawan gempa yang belum sepenuhnya memahami prosedur evakuasi yang tepat. Tujuan: Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesiapsiagaan siswa menghadapi bencana khususnya gempa bumi melalui pendekatan sosialisasi dan simulasi secara langsung. Metode: Metode yang digunakan melibatkan pre-test, penyampaian materi, praktik simulasi evakuasi, serta post-test. Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebelum kegiatan, seluruh siswa belum memahami langkah evakuasi yang benar. Namun, setelah dilakukan kegiatan simulasi, sebanyak 20 dari 23 siswa telah memahami secara baik, sementara 3 siswa lainnya baru memahami sebagian. Kesimpulan: Melalui kegiatan ini dapat diketahui bahwa metode simulasi mampu meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan siswa dalam menghadapi potensi bencana gempa bumi.

Abstract

Pengembangan wisata di wilayah pedesaan merupakan langkah strategis guna meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan potensi alam dan budaya secara berkelanjutan. Artikel ini mengkaji strategi pengembangan objek wisata Air Terjun Ayuhulalo di Kabupaten Boalemo, Provinsi Gorontalo, menggunakan analisis SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). Metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan diskusi bersama pemangku kepentingan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Air Terjun Ayuhulalo memiliki kekuatan berupa keindahan alam yang masih terjaga dan potensi budaya lokal, namun juga menghadapi kelemahan seperti fasilitas yang minim dan akses jalan yang belum optimal. Peluang pengembangan didukung oleh tren wisata alam yang meningkat dan dukungan pemerintah, sementara ancaman berasal dari persaingan objek wisata lain dan kerusakan lingkungan. Strategi pengembangan yang direkomendasikan adalah memanfaatkan kekuatan dan peluang secara maksimal (strategi SO), serta memperbaiki kelemahan dengan memanfaatkan peluang (strategi WO). Pendekatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kunjungan wisatawan sekaligus menjaga kelestarian lingkungan dan memberdayakan masyarakat lokal.Kata Kunci: Strategi Pengembangan, Analisis SWOT, EFAS dan IFAS

Abstract

Effective geography education requires instructional media capable of visualizing spatial phenomena in a realistic and interactive manner. Google Earth, a digital mapping application based on satellite imagery and geospatial data, offers an innovative approach to address this need. This study aims to examineimplementation and advantages of Google Earth as a contextual learning medium in geography education through a systematic literature review. The analysis reveals that Google Earth significantly enhances students’ comprehension of key geographical concepts, including absolute and relative location, spatial distribution, spatial interaction, and regional dynamics, through 3D visualizations and geospatial data exploration. Furthermore, its integration supports project-based and inquiry-based learning models aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. However, several challenges hinder its implementation, such as limited technological infrastructure, low digital literacy among educators and learners, and various technical issues. To fully leverage the potential of Google Earth in geography instruction, strategic implementation planning, teacher training, and institutional support are essential.
