Abstract

ABSTRACT Infertility is agrowing health problem that has a major impact on the biological, psychological, and spiritual aspects of married couples, making artificial fertilization(IVF) one of the most widely used medical solutions. However, it stillraises ethical issues and Sharia considerations that must be carefully examined. This study aims to analyze the practice of artificial fertilizationthrough the maqasid asy-Syari'ah approach, identify forms ofIVF that are in line with Islamic law, and formulate a case resolution modelthat can be applied in holistic Islamic nursing services. The research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approachthrough the analysis of various fiqh literature, contemporary literature, fatwas from Islamic institutions, reproductive medicine journals, and nursing practice guidelines related toreproductive bioethics. The results of the study show that artificial fertilization ispermissible according to Sharia law, provided that the entire fertilization processuses sperm and eggs from a legally married couple, is carried outwhile the marriage bond is still valid, and does not involve gamete donors, surrogate wombs, or other processes that could lead to the mixing of masab andviolate the principle of hifz an- nasl. The study also confirms that IVF that complies with Islamic law can support the protection of life, honor, reason, and emotional stability of couples when carried out with comprehensive nursing assistance, both in terms of clinical education, anxiety management, and spiritual guidance. Based on these findings, it is concluded that artificial fertilization can be a medically and sharia-compliant solution if carried out within the limits set by Islam, while nursing staff need to integrate the values of maqasid asy-syariah to ensure a safe, ethical process that provides spiritual peace for patients. Keywords: Artificial Fertilization, IVF, Maqasid Asy-Syariah, Islamic Nursing, Reproductive Bioethics.

Abstract

Coping mechanisms greatly help schizophrenia patients deal with psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thoughts, as well as manage the emotional and social effects of their illness. The purpose of this concept analysis is to gain a more detailed and in-depth understanding of the use of coping mechanisms as part of schizophrenia therapy. This concept analysis uses the Walker and Avant approach with relevant literature findings related to the concept were obtained through concept databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, etc. Keywords used in the literature search include "Coping mechanisms", and "Scizophrenia". The inclusion criteria for articles were articles written in English and Indonesian, full text, and articles published in the last 5 years from 2019-2024 and open access as many as 7 articles. The results Adaptive coping mechanisms, such as problem solving and seeking social support, can help patients deal with stress, reduce symptoms, and improve their quality of life. Conversely, maladaptive coping strategies, such as avoidance or denial, actually risk worsening the patient's condition, increasing social isolation, and increasing the likelihood of symptom recurrence. It is hoped that more in-depth education about effective coping mechanisms needs to be included in nurse training and patient counseling.
