Abstract

Adolescents will inevitably face challenges and obstacles in their educational journey, so an optimistic mindset is essential for positive problem-solving. The "Best Possible Self" technique stands out as an effective strategy to foster optimism. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of applying the "Best Possible Self" method in increasing students' level of optimism. Using a True Experimental design with a control group, this study involved a pretest and posttest of 16 grade XI students at SMA Islam 3 Pakem, who were randomly selected. Data analysis used paired sample test and independent t-test. The results showed the success of the Best Possible Self intervention, which showed a substantial mean difference from the experimental group and for the control group there was no difference. In addition, significant differences between the experimental and control groups. The findings provide benefits for students and educators in adopting the Best Possible Self method as a tool to increase optimism and expand understanding in positive psychology.

Abstract

This study investigates the predictive role of psychological capital self-efficacy, hope, optimism, and resilience on the implementation of managerial functions (POAC) among student leaders in higher education. Using a quantitative approach with multiple regression analysis, data were processed through Jamovi 2.3.6 following descriptive, assumption, and correlational testing. Results indicate that psychological capital strongly predicts POAC implementation, with the regression model explaining 71.9% of the variance (R = .848; R² = .719; p < .001). All four dimensions significantly contributed to managerial performance, with self-efficacy emerging as the strongest predictor, followed by hope, optimism, and resilience. These findings highlight psychological capital as a central psychological resource that enhances planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling behaviors in student organizational contexts. The study underscores the importance of integrating psychological capital development into leadership training initiatives to strengthen managerial readiness and organizational effectiveness in university based leadership environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the performance of educational staff at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) methods. Data was collected through questionnaires from 391 student respondents from various study programmes. The CSI calculation results showed a satisfaction level of 75.46%, which falls into the satisfied category. The IPA analysis identified service indicators that need to be prioritised for improvement, particularly in terms of supporting facilities and access to library collections. Overall, the performance of educational staff is considered good but still requires improvement in certain aspects to align with student expectations.
