Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of the implementation of STAD type cooperative learning models to improve students' learning outcomes in social sciences subjects. The form of the research was pre-experimental design using one group pretest-post-test design. The subjects of the study were class VII E students at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya Kabupaten Kubu Raya which numbered 26 people. The data collection techniques used in this study were direct observation, measurement and documentary study techniques. Data collection tools were observation sheet or check list, record sheet and the results taken form of pre-test and post-test. Based on data analysis, the normality test results state that the residual value is distributed normally with a significant value of 0.621>0.05. Moreover, the hypothetical test results stated that Ho was rejected and Ha accepted based on sig (2-tailed) values pre-test and post-test results with a value of 0.000 means smaller than 0.05. According to effect size calculation, the result obtained was 2.13 which kategorized as high, means that STAD type cooperative learning model has a big influence in improving the learning outcome of students in social sciense subjects grade VII E in SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Abstract

AbstractThis study aims at describing teachers’ classroom management skills in social science learning to year-8 A and year-8 B of SMP Negeri 23 Pontianak in regards to the way the teachers create the right learning atmosphere, set the classroom situation, and manage good interaction in teaching-learning process. This study uses descriptive qualitative approach. The data of this study is the teachers of social science and the students of year-8 A and year-8 B. The technique of data collecting is through observation, interview and documentation. The technique of data analysis is through reduction, display and deduction. The validity of the data is through triangulation of technique and source. The finding of the study shows that the teachers’ skills in classroom management in social science learning to year-8 A and year-8 B of SMP Negeri 23 Pontianak is relatively good from several ways; (1) applying the principles of classroom management including warmth, enthusiasm, challenge, variety, flexibility, emphasis on positive things and cultivation of discipline. (2) the setting of the classroom tends to only change the seat position when it is students’ group-work. (3) management of teaching-learning interaction is done through the skills of opening and closing, explaining, questioning, reinforcing and discussion guiding. Keywords: Classroom Management Skills, Social Science Learning, Teachers

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine how much influence the student's deviant behavior has on learning achievement in class VII. The research method used is descriptive in the form of quantitative research. The sample in the study was class VII students totaling 31 students who were taken and the data was in the form of a statement questionnaire about deviant behavior with 8 indicators, namely truancy, chatting during class hours, running from school during class hours, not doing school homework, not wearing a belt. or socks, being late, cheating, and dating. Based on the results of the data analysis that the researchers conducted, it was concluded that: 1) deviant behavior resulted in the results of 61.30% (19 students) having a moderate category. 2) Social studies learning outcomes obtained by 74.2% (23 students) have a medium category. 3) the influence of deviant behavior with learning achievement is 0.60 with a standard significant level of 0.05 (5%) So that the results of t count > t table are 9.673> 1.695. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an unfavorable influence between the deviant behavior of students on learning achievement in class VII. In the learning process the greater the deviant behavior, the negative effect on learning achievement as well as the smaller the deviant behavior, the learning achievement will increase.Key Words: Deviant Behavior, Learning Achievement

Abstract

Abstractthe title of this research is "The role of social studies teachers in influencing the disciplinecharacter of class VIII students at MTs Miftahul Ulum Mempawah". The generalproblem discussed in this research is how social studies teachers influenced the disciplinecharacter of students in class VIII. The purpose of this study is to determine how social studiesteachers' abilities as mentors, leaders, and supervisors influence students' disciplined behavior.A qualitative technique with a descriptive strategy was used in this study. The approach usedis a qualitative approach with a descriptive method the technique used in data collection areinterview, observation and documentation techniques. This study's qualitative analysis isbased on input from six individuals: a social studies teacher, a guidance and counselingteacher, homeroom teacher for class VIII guardian, and three students who constantly breakdisciplinary rules. The findings of this study show that social studies teachers influenced thediscipline character of class VIII students. The role of the social studies teacher as a supervisoris the existence of guidance books and special books owned by social studies teachers andthere are several guidance programs such as the morning ceremony program and religiousprograms. The social studies teacher's role as a leader can be seen in the teacher's role as amoral role model for students and teachers who always comply school rules, as well as thesocial studies teacher's role as a supervisor, which entails strict supervision of students whoconstantly break disciplinary rules.Keywords: Social Studies Teacher's Role, Character, Discipline
