Abstract

AbstractThis study is backgrounded by the lack of interest of the younger generation towards the traditional art Raddat Ape Nang Ditumbok as a heritage in Trimandayan Village, Teluk Keramat District, Sambas Regency. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to study and preserve it. The aims of this research are (1) to describe the vocal melody of accompaniment music and (2) to describe the meaning of the verses in Raddat Ape Nang Ditumbok in Trimandayan Village, Teluk Keramat District, Sambas Regency. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative form and a musicological and semantic approach. The data collection techniques used were observation and interviews, while the data collection tools used were interview guides, observation guidelines, research guidelines, digital cameras or smartphones, and notebooks. The validity of the data was tested using the source triangulation technique. The findings showed that the scales used in vocal melody dance accompaniment are major diatonic scales, with Andante tempo between 80-108 BPM. The bar used is 4/4 and has a 4- part song form. In the melodic motif, there is literal repetition, enlargement and reduction of intervals, and enlargement and reduction of tone values. In Ape Nang Ditumbok's Raddat vocal melody, there are no sequences and inversions. Raddat Ape Nang Ditumbok briefly delivers a moral message to the younger generation to uphold the rules, customs, manners in life, be grateful for the gift of life, work together, and help each other in society.Keywords: Analysis, Melody, Raddat Ape nang ditumbok, Sambas Regency.

Abstract

AbstractThe background of the research is the researcher interest toward the existence of Drum band extracurricular at Elementary School in Southeast Pontianak which still unknown due to the unavailable data of the total unit, the condition, and other data. The purpose of this research were 1) to describe the history of drum band in Elementary School in Southeast Pontianak. 2) to describe the composition of drum band unit in Elementary School in Southeast Pontianak. 3) to describe the rehearsal activities and the achievement in Elementary School in Southeast Pontianak. The methodology of this research is descriptive research with qualitative research. The data was taken from several techniques namely observation technique, interview technique, and documentation study. The technique to validate the data was the extension of the observation and triangulation technique. The result of this research were 1) the history formed of drumband in each school had average reasons. 2) the unit composition in drumband extracurricular in each school had different of composition. 3) The achievemnts in the Drum Band in elementary schools in southeast Pontianak are different, this is influenced by several factors, namely the training system, student interest, the composition of instrument, and school activeness in participating in competition.Keywords: existence, drumband, extracurricular

Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated by the uniqueness of the Pangalangok Nek Itapm tatung group. Tatung art is a tradition of the Chinese community, but in the Pangalangok Nek Itapm group all members are of the Dayak ethnicity. This study uses a descriptive-exploratory method, with an anthropological approach. Data obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. The data validity technique used source triangulation and observation extension. The data in this study were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's theory. The results of this study indicate that the uniqueness lies in the special rituals and forms of presentation. The special ritual of the Panglangok Nek Itapm group uses a unique dish, namely using a sacred dish, namely blood, ancak, pahar, kalangkang, plain poek, native chicken eggs, tumpi', saba', tangkin, rice, and chicken, in This presentation is rarely encountered in special rituals in other tatung groups. In the form of its presentation Pangalangok Nek Itapm has a costume and dress that uses hornbill head, ruai feathers as head decoration, keris as a sword to be stabbed into the body of the tatung, deer antlers to hang on the neck as a unique decoration of the Pangalangok Nek tatung group Itapm.Keywords: Presentation Form, Tatung Pangalangok Nek Itapm Group
