Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to investigate the differences in student learning outcomes by applying inquiry learning model. A Quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design was used by the writer as the research method. The sample of this research was class VII C of SMP Negeri 19 Pontianak which consist of 30 students. The techniques of data collection used in this research were direct observation, direct communication, and measurement technique. The tools of data collection were observation sheets, interviews and the pre-test and post-test of students’ learning outcomes. Based on data analysis, the results of the normality test show that the results of residual scores are normally distributed with a significant score of 0.477> 0.05. Meanwhile the results of the hypothesis test shows that null hypothesis is rejected and alternative hypothesis is accepted based on the sig score. (2-tailed) at the score of the pre-test and post-test with a score of 0,000 which means smaller than 0.05. From the hypothesis testing it was stated that there were differences in student learning outcomes after the implementation of inquiry learning model with the average of pretest score 55.5 and posttest 80.66. It indicates that the application of the inquiry learning model increase the learning outcomes of students of class VII C SMP Negeri 19 Pontianak. Keywords: Inquiry Learning Model, Learning Outcomes, Social Studies.

Abstract

AbstractThis research was to found out to improving IPS learning outcome through Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model at class VIII A SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Sungai Raya. The design of this research was classroom action research with 2 cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages, including planning implementation, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research method was descriptive method. The subject of this research was 23 students at class VIII A. Data collection was conducted with direct observation technique, learning outcome measurement, and documentary of study. The tool of data collection used in this research was learning outcome test and observation sheet. The result finding showed that the level of success in learning that was determined by 75% but the implementation of Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model at cycle I was not optimal because the level of success only reached 72%. Therefore at cycle II, it was optimal because the level of success was 100%. The mean score in post-test at cycle I and cycle II improved about 15.66%. The percentage of learning mastery in post-test at cycle I and cycle II improved about 21.74%. Keywords: Numbered Head Together, Learning Outcome, IPS

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research was to know the effectiveness of the application of powtoon’s audio-visual learning media. This research was conducted using pre-experimental design with the one-group pretest-posttest design. The subject of this study was 7th-grade students of smp 8. The techniques of  Data collection were direct observation technique, direct communication technique, and measurement technique. The tools of Data collecting in this research were interviews and student worksheets result based on data analysis, the results of the normality test state that the results of residual values are normally distributed with a significant value of 0.675 = 0.05. While the results of the hypothesis test state that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted based on the sig value. (2-tailed) at the value of the pretest and posttest with a value of 0,000 which means smaller than 0.05. It showed that there were significant differences after the application of the Powtoon’s audio-visual learning media. In conclusion, teaching and learning activities with the application of Powtoon's audio-visual learning media on the economic subject in the 7th grade 8 Pontianak class showed very effective criteria for the process of improving student learning outcomes with an effect size in the amount of 1.64. Keywords: Effectiveness, Powtoon’s Audio-Visual Learning Media
